UTMB Health Jennie Sealy Hospital, Galveston

The ICU in this hospital is second to none. I cannot express in words how impressed I've been in the past 4 days watching these nurses and doctors care for my good friend. Professionalism is of course expected, but these people go above and beyond any expectation. I wish I knew the doctors' names to give them credit, but I failed to get them, regrettably. They are on their game, majorly, while being down to earth with the family and friends of the patients for whom they're caring. They'll explain things as many times as it takes in plain English so non-medical professionals are on the same page. Came in to the ER and ended up needing surgery. The staff here, from the orderlies to the surgeons, were extremely caring. I had no negative interactions and I felt like my concerns and questions were validated. Best hospital around, hands down.

Faced with an unexpected emergency admission for my wife during our holiday, she was treated and cared for in an extremely professional yet wonderfully friendly and caring manner. Nothing was too much trouble; it was truly amazing. The specialists were highly skilled and excellent at explaining everything clearly. Ultimately, my wife required surgery. The people and teams who supported us were fantastic—they truly put the person and their health first. Thank you all so much... you are world-class.

I was admitted for severe loss of hydration due to diarrhea. I was so very impressed w nursing staff & supervisor! They treated me like family. After 1 1/2 days I was discharged. It felt so good to go home but I will never forget their superb treatment!
