I disagree with the bad reviews. These nurses and doctors here work very hard around the clock to provide excellent care to the patients they care for. Canandaigua has a lot of people to serve so the job is very demanding. Depending on what you come in for it can take longer to be seen. It's not first come first served! Alot of people misunderstand that. It's based on severity of your condition. Any hospital will work the same. You are only brought back to a room immediately if you are dying. If you are not dying in the next few minutes and your vitals and EKG are stable you can safely wait in the waiting room. For less serious issues that aren't life threatening they can be addressed at your UR urgent care or PCP. I can say every time I come in here they take very good care of me every ti

I chose to give birth here because if we needed a NICU it would be an option. Thankfully we did not, but this hospital was the worst while I was in labor & delivery. I came in at 5 cm and was admitted, everything was fine. I got my epidural and got given a panic attack and started throwing up because I got numbed about 6 times and then he missed about 3 times. The rest of that night wasn’t exciting nothing happened really. Then come the next day, my nurse for the time period walked in, said her name and turned around. That’s all I basically got from her. She had a female with her who didn’t even introduce herself until like the 3rd third time she came in. And since I was younger I think they just assumed they don’t have to ask me anything and they had this lady doing cervix checks on me. S

I recently had a 2 day hospital stay at Thompson. It was truly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The care was atrocious, I believe nurses are overworked, but this was beyond that. I rang my bell for care and waited an hour and a half for a response every time I rang. I had major surgery and I was in a great deal of pain. I was left 2 hours over the time the meds were due, then my nurse, Tammy, told me I had to request the medication. I was enraged, I told her I had rung for someone and no one ever showed up. Please don't go there if you can go somewhere else. It is a nightmare and the staff is sub par at their best

Be CAREFUL giving birth here. I had a wonderful experience with my doctors and nurses. SO well taken care of, but when it came to my anesthesiologist Lori Antonitto DO, I had a NIGHTMARE experience. She attempted to give me an epidural over the course of an hour and I was poked 6 times, 12 times overall with the spine numbing shot, because she kept missing, and overall the epidural failed. After this I was in distress, my baby’s heart rate dropped and so did my BP leading to me having an almost emergent C section. I believe the ONLY reason I needed a C section was because of the epidural she tried to give me. She is a lovely person but as far as her job she should not be giving epidurals at all due to the lives she put at risk.

Absolutely horrible. I’m a really understanding person when it comes to hospitals and having low staff or not a lot of beds I don’t like to go to the hospital in the first place because out of fear I’m bothering them. I waited 2 and a half hours in the waiting room I had blood drawn and sent back to the waiting room I then have to do a urine sample and I sat for the rest of the time in the waiting room holding a bag with my urine in it . Gross! I then finally got a room the doctor came in not so long after getting this room proceeds to preform a test and look at my gallbladder even though I had said my stomach hurts im having pain for weeks on end nausea and headaches the doctor completely ignores that and proceeds to do a ultra sound on my gallbladder as I'm sitting up didn't let me lay d
