UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics – Camp Hill

I would appreciate if this review could find its way to Dr. Michael Krall. Dr. Krall is a very good doctor who created rapport with both of my children in his previous practice. Since the dissolution of that practice, I have been consistently disappointed with his corporate overseers at UPMC. The last few visits my son and I have waited in the waiting room for a minimum of 20 minutes. This past visit, I was told that he could not be seen because 1. I went into the "sick" entrance instead of the "healthy" entrance, and 2. They have a five minute late policy, and it was 8:06. Dr. Krall, you are a good doctor who inspired trust in my children. You gave them their first inoculations when they were just a few weeks old. And now because of your affiliation with UPMC, you will never see them as p

I finally had our last straw this morning and decided to pull my kids out of the practice. The office staff has made it impossible to remain patients here. There was a mix up with our appointment time this morning and was told we arrived 8 minutes late. We have never once been late for an appointment, and there was zero grace given in this situation. I guarantee even if we were on time, we still would have been waiting in the waiting room for an additional 20 minutes or more. I would understand if this was a repeated issue, but never being late before, I expected some human decency. Reading some previous reviews make it clear that is not an isolated incident and the care has really gone downhill since we originally chose this practice. Highly do not recommend. My son had an appointment today. We travel 45 minutes to an hour to get there. We got to the office 2 minutes past the check in time due to an accident on 81 in Carlisle. They refused to see us. Apparently they forget about the times we sit and wait over 20 minutes to see them when in the office. Do yourself a favor and go to PennState alot nicer people to deal with that actually care. We will not be returning to this office they have no consideration.

front desk receptionist Very poor experience at this pediatric clinic. I arrived 10 minutes late with a feverish baby and apologized. I was first told it was fine and asked to wait, but later told I must either wait 1–1.5 hours or go to urgent care. When I asked if I could wait nearby due to my baby being sick, I was refused with no empathy. After coming home, I called multiple times to report the issue and request the receptionist’s name. I was transferred repeatedly and refused the information. For a pediatric hospital, the lack of compassion and flexibility was shocking. Poor communication and poor care.

Every single time I have called to get my children seen I am told there is no appointments available and to go to urgent care. Doesn’t matter if I call first thing in the morning or later. At this point all I use them for is the wellness check up. The only reason they get any stars is the staff is always nice. I regret switching my kids to UPMC I should have just stayed with their old doctor. Only reason I switched was because we moved and this location is only 20 minutes away as opposed to their old doctor is now 45-50 minutes away. At least their old pediatrician would see them same day and I wouldn’t have to pay a huge deductible at urgent care.
