My child had their first ever surgery recently. We were first assisted by Gina working in the front. She was so helpful, kind and reassuring keeping my child calm. When we checked in up stairs and a wonderful administrator made her feel even calmer about her procedure. The team of providers, nurses, techs and everyone else, were absolutely amazing! We, as the parents were well informed, there’s a monitors to track progress and many folks to help answer questions anytime. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a hospital setting. ******WARNING IF YOU HAVE A SURGERY AND YOU FEEL SOMETHING IS WRONG MAKE SURE YOU FILE A TORT CLAIM WITHIN 90 DAYS OR YOU WILL BE STUCK LIKE I AM WITH NO HELP.****** Clinical Chronology & Patient Statement: Care Received at UNM Hospital Phase 1: Surgical Event & Neurological Change The Procedure: Spinal Laminectomy performed by Dr. Urvij Modhia. The Outcome: Upon awakening, I experienced 100% loss of motor function in my left arm. Diagnostic History: Medical billing records confirm an emergency "Stroke MRI" was performed and billed to my insurance while I was unconscious. The results of this scan, which noted arterial dissection and stroke damage, were not disclosed to me during my recovery at this facility. I went in to have hip replacement surgery a week ago with Dr. Krumme and it couldn’t have gone any better. He’s done lots of these so it’s second nature for him but I can’t believe how well I am healing! ❤️‍🩹 All of the nurses from pre-op to post-op, anesthesia to physical therapy were all wonderful, knowledgeable and nice. I will be coming back here for future medical procedures if needed!

Daughter has been here 12 hours in ER, waiting on MRI that was requested at 4:30 pm it is now 9:17 pm and no MRI as of this review. She arrived at 9:00 am. The Radiology department can't be that back logged for sure. She signed the necessary documents at 6:00 pm during shift change and they took her off all monitors in prep for the MRI at that time.

Rating: -10 For an accredited medical facility, this emergency room is completely disorganized. Staff appear to lack even basic professionalism and skills when serving patients in distress. Intake staff were laughing at patients, and ER nurses repeatedly called for patients who had already been seen or discharged. The environment felt more comical than clinical. We waited over four hours and still counting just to be seen for a head injury, with no sense of urgency shown toward patient care. At one point, staff openly told patients there were no doctors available. Based on this experience, my best advice is to seek care elsewhere. At time of post we are at 5 hrs and counting
