UnityPoint Clinic Urgent Care - Marion

Tried taking my 16 month old daughter to get strep tested for an appointment at 6 PM and they told me they were an hour and a half behind. I made this appointment hours ago and they didn’t bother to tell me before I brought all of my kids with me so that she could get tested for strep. i’m not sitting in a waiting room with multiple toddlers for an hour and a half.

I would avoid any Unity Point facility for this reason. I went to this clinic for a simple strep test on 20 May 2025. The Unity Point Billing Department has had the billing between Medicare and United Health Care screwed up for six months now. Here it is 15 Nov 2025 and they still have not cleared a simple lab fee thru Medicare. The Doc bill finally cleared a couple weeks ago after several attempts. They are now trying to bill me for the full lab fee amount directly even though that is covered by Medicare also. Very frustrating and I will take my future business elsewhere. Status Update 11/17/2025: Talked to Customer Advocate from Unity Point on after they saw this review. She is going to try and resolve the issue with the Billing Dept. Until resolution this remains a one star review

I went there for 2 reasons: 1) I have an infection in my finger.. Dr R Hodge saw it and said don’t worry about it. It will pop by itself in several days…. So he didn’t do anything …. 2) I have vertigo and my family doctor was able to fix me with a maneuver with my head. This so called doctor R Hodge said it will solve by itself, which is not the case. I told him I have had that before and explained what my family doctor (who is on vacation) did to fix it. He responded : oh that, you can do it in your house by yourself…. Seriously!!! Terrible service … lazy doctor… he must retire if he doesn’t treat properly to his patients…

Got me in & out fast with what I needed. They also hooked me up with a PCP which has been an impossible mission to accomplish since I moved here. So happy with the service

This was the most amazing urgent care experience I've ever had. I've typically gone to a competitor but will be changing. The entire staff was great from the front desk, to nurse, to especially the doctor. I think this is the first time in my life I've ever had a doctor be incredibly thorough in explaining the issue (it was multiple kinds of an ear infection), sit down and talk through all of the questions (like will the antibiotic heal both inner ear and swimmers ear). After all of that, he then asks, "is there anything else wrong you want to discuss". Normally they are out the door without even giving you a Q/A session.
