UnityPoint Clinic – Express (San Marnan)

This was our first visit to this location's urgent care and first time at a Unity Health clinic. We did a walk-in because our young child was not feeling well. The lobby area was clean and bright, and we were greeted by a courteous receptionist to assist with our check-in. After we were called into a visit room, the nurse assistant was friendly and asked questions to better understand the issue our little one had. The visit room was also clean. After waiting for about 5-10 minutes, the provider came in. She was a nurse practitioner, Dr. Erika (?). She took her time checking our little one and provide us the knowledge with what was going on with our little one. She was very friendly and welcoming. Our little one enjoyed working with her. We were in and out of the facility within 30 minutes.

Potentially the most unprofessional encounter I have ever had with a healthcare provider. I came in feeling ill with a specific concern and wanted some labs ordered, and Erica Schafer let me know they don't order labs there. I said “with respect, what do you do here then?” And she stepped back and said “okay, then this appointment is over.” I was shocked. I said “I just asked a question” and she did back it up and explained, but I couldn’t believe how aggressive and defensive she immediately became. This interaction absolutely felt like a power move by her, even though not being able to order labs is not her fault. Her demeanor and actions I am truly horrified to have seen in a provider. I do hope Unity Point reaches out to me to resolve this. Also- the nurse told me to take expired medic

Scheduled an appt for 1245 which is encouraged by the clinic. I was here for almost 45 min in the room after being checked in. I didn't have the time to wait around for that long and had to leave back to work. Didn't even get seen by a doctor but I'm sure I'll get charged. I would avoid this place as they overbook appointments but don't have the ability to even see patients in a timely manner. They don't respect your time at all even with an appt scheduled.

Having 8 to 8 as the hours of operation on your door, but turning away a person with a kid in pain at 745 because, and i quote the receptionist, "8 to 8 means we are out the door at 8, we cant help you now"...what a great business model. No people waiting. No cars outside. I'll go elsewhere from now on.

Loved the atmosphere and how caring the staff was! The Keurig and cold water was definitely appreciated with my respiratory issues
