This is my first time at using UM lab facilities, and this was atrocious. I was there for an hour. Early (by 10 minutes) to my appointment asked for directions at the door and wasnt given anything correctly. There is no signage to the main laboratory, the door greeter only directed me to the tablets that are hidden behind a wall. There is no "main waiting area" since everything inside is Suite based. So also unclear. After sitting at a random suite, I checked the UM text message system that I confirmed through this morning, and it titled Suite B. After sitting at suite B, there thinking there was a back up I got up and asked one of the women behind the computers. She directed me to my APRN'S Suite and to speak to someone there at the desk. The fact that I have to wait to be seen is enough for me not to give him my highest rating. I greatly respect Dr. de la Cruz's professionalism, but his treatment has not been sufficient for my needs, Today was a terrible day for me, between one company and another that doesn't know how to take care of people. I wish I could think that the healthcare system isn't really a bad joke; the assistants just hang up on you.

I want to preface this by saying if could give this zero stars I would. The only good thing that came from my experience at this facility was the help I received from Sarai at the main desk and a nurse named Meagan. REAL REVIEW: They do not value appointments here at all, do not be surprised if you show up on time for your appointment and they finally see you hours later. If there was one thing to take from this review is please go somewhere else as I’m sure anywhere would have a better service for their patients - A fellow healthcare employee

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding my recent experiences with the Medical Records department at the University of Miami Health System, specifically at the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine location and the Downtown Medical Campus. On multiple occasions, I attempted to contact Medical Records to obtain assistance. During these calls, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior. On one occasion, the staff member abruptly hung up on me. I was forced to call three times to receive any form of response. This behavior was not only unprofessional, but deeply upsetting. As a patient, I expect to be treated with respect, patience, and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite. Horrible service. I have been waiting two months for an appointment with an OBGYN for a Pap smear. A week before the appointment, I found out it was scheduled as a telehealth visit for a Pap smear. How does that even make sense? I called to correct the issue and rescheduled with another MD. Hours later, my appointment was switched again without my consent, to a completely different date and time and with an NP. I then received a voicemail stating that the appointment with the MD was a “mistake.” It was not a mistake. The appointment was available, confirmed, and agreed upon. I specifically requested to see a MEDICAL DOCTOR, not an NP or PA. Rescheduling patients without their consent and changing providers without authorization is highly unprofessional.
