I went in for a regular orthopedic appointment for joint pain. I was seen in an office setting, not a hospital setting, and they performed a few x-rays. I received the bill and I was charged $2500 for a few x-rays which is vastly more expensive than if I went to my primary care physician for the same exact x-rays, or even Children's Mercy where I've had several X-rays for my children. . I called KU and the agent informed me that every x-ray or imaging that is done at KU, even if it is in a standalone doctors office, is considered an outpatient hospital service and charged as such. So what would have been a few hundred dollars for a few x-rays has now turned into $2500 and there is nothing I can do. I am honestly shocked that this practice is allowed and not considered fraudulent. If this w

World class service, physicians, and staff. This place is top to bottom the best in a four or five state area. Every person and physician I’ve met has gone above and beyond for my care. I can’t express enough gratitude for everything they have done to get me back on my feet.

I recently was diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma HPV assosiated cancer and had surgery to remove both sets of tonsils, 3 lymph nodes and part of the back of my tongue. I loved my surgeon Dr Kakarala and the surgery team. My 3 day stay was great also a few of the RN Abby and Fred, Peter. But the after care from the Dr "on call" is the absolute worst!!! Dr Karkarala prescribed me 15 pain meds. I knew it wasn't going to be enough for the pain I'm in. I got out on a Thursday morning and 1 every 4 hours=2.5 days. I called the # they gave me for the "on call Dr" they had to get in touch with them to call me within 30 minutes. They called in 15 minutes BUT let it ring twice and hung up. I called the # back to reach a voicemail that said to have me reach out via MyChart. I did that

Gave birth here ,asked several times for no students to be present, they violated my consent multiple times allowing several students in my room over and over. I asked for the cord to not be cut they didn't listen I told them I could feel every stich they were putting in me they dismissed me and told me to just focus on my baby. This hospital is the absolute worst. Horrible doctors who have zero compassion. Never give birth at a learning hospital especially this one! I thank God for protecting my baby and I from this hell hole.

Great place to go if you want to be treated like cattle. People were unfriendly, uncaring and my husband's surgery was unsuccessful. They also refuse to let you see your loved one for multiple hours after surgery.
