The Oaks - Athens

My mother-in-law spent a month in rehab at the Oaks. We found the facility to be clean and inviting. A key to the great atmosphere were the staff members. The nurses, CNAs, and professional staff were friendly and took great care of her and us. We were very impressed with the therapists and the work they did to get her back up and going so she could return home. A rehab stint is stressful and we appreciated the support the Oaks gave our family.

My mother is currently at the Oaks recovering after a long hospital stay. We have had an excellent experience so far. The nurses and CNAs have been very nice, the therapy has been excellent, and the social worker and care plan team have been great about communicating with me. My mother is improving every day. The facility is very clean and the food is exceptional! I’ll continue to update as my mom is still a patient, but so far I have been very impressed!

The Oaks of Athens is a beautiful place. The most staff is friendly and work very hard to make the patients feel like they’re home. Mrs.Ollie and Mrs. Felicia on the first floor are really friendly and do an excellent job at making their patients feel at home. They make them feel at home but also make them do the work they need to do so that they can go back home. They remind them that they’re there for therapy and not to stay. Mrs. Ollie made sure my husband got his shower on his shower days whenever she was there on his shower days. Now there was Patricia Edwards (CNA) prime example of what a CNA should not be just plain out lazy as hell. She wouldn’t shower my husband to save her life when she was there on his shower days unless I was there and kept harassing her about. She wouldn’t eve

I had a 25% chance of keeping my leg. IV bags were not administered at prescribed times. I had talked to the administer of the facility 4 times and each time I was assured it would not happen again. Yes, the staff was friendly, but lacked knowledge of companies policy. The 1st night (Friday) I stated my son was driving tomorrow 1000 miles but he didn't want to keep his dog in the vehicle if it wasn't allowed. I received no answer except to find out Monday. The facility says they provide patients transportation to doctors appointments. After telling 3 staff members to double check, I was assured it was on the schedule. As an AEMT, I am in and out of several assisted living and nursing homes. The Oaks of Athens is the best facility I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. So much so, that my aunt now resides there as a permanent resident. And she loves it!! Patients are treated as human beings and not just a number in a bed. If you are looking for a place you can trust for your loved one, this is it!!
