The Gardens at West Shore

Our loved one broke her arm twice while in their care. They are short staffed and consequently over worked. The building needs so many repairs and up to date equipment. Most of the Memory care patients were kept in one room and watched by staff who are not nurses or cna’s. They spent more time on their phone than interacting with the residents. Only nurses can feed the patients but there are so many patients that cannot feed themselves, I observed only 4 bites of food were fed to one resident. Our loved one was recently transferred to another facility and she has received more attention, respect and a caring heart than at the Gardens.for months. The Garden’s.nurses work beyond hard. If there was a no star at all I would’ve pressed it!!! I’ve been in numerous nursing homes and rehabs which I actually came to visit a roommate from another facility we were in together. As soon as we walk in you can just sense nobody there likes there jobs or haven’t been trained properly. The place is dirty and has a heavy odor, the staff was unfriendly and acted like they couldn’t be bothered about us checking the patient out. Staff passing out meds while on a FaceTime call not even paying attention around her. My wife a nurse over 45 years overheard other employees speaking down to patients and actually telling one elderly woman to stop bothering her , which she happened to be on a phone call as well. It was truly a shame to see how families loved ones are being treated . AB

I have a friend that there family member has been up hear for 3 months and they don’t let any family member or anyone contact that person and they even sent letters stating if they don’t contact them soon they will be taking legal action and their family member was forced to come to this place and then they don’t tell that person POa any information and that’s not legal why is it they contact everyone they can try to to get information and nobody at the home gets back this place is a joke and the reviews are very accurate the worse home in the country. And from everything I see they reply to reviews more then information on people’s love ones or their poa getting information

My Dad is currently in this facility. The place is dirty, unfriendly staff, not well maintained, and the aides are on their phone more than they are caring for patients. I would never send a loved one here.

There is a man there who used to sit out front and wave at the cars thay went by. I LOVED seeing him!!!! I would hear othere cars beep and he just waved and waved! He looked so happy!! Now, from what I hear from someone who works there, he is NOT ALLOWED to go out there and do something exciting for himself!! The nurses who work there supposedly say that he looks like he's panhandling!!!! That is the most ridiculous and ignorant thing you can do to a person of that age!!!!
