The Courtyards at Pasadena

We are so grateful for the care our mom received at Courtyards at Pasadena. She was transferred here from the hospital for rehabilitation and respiratory care, and our experience has been wonderful. The entire team - nurses, staff, and support personnel were all amazing. The food was great and the facility is comfortable and well maintained, which made her stay comfortable. In particular, Jessica, Michelle, Maria, Princes and Key xoxo and all the nurse staff provided exceptional care and kindness around the clock care. The physical therapists, Miss Elizabeth and Albert, were outstanding. They gave our mom the encouragement and support she needed to regain strength and independence. So I am a Marketing Director for a nursing and skill facility. This facility is one of our competitors. I visited the facility on yesterday and it was beyond amazing from the time we walked up to the front door. We were greeted by the activities director as she was outside with the residents for outside time. The CNA also greeted us in the hallway with a smile. The receptionist was very pleasant. The physical therapist I think her name was beth was very pleasant and had a number of tools for treatment. The residents were well kept and all dressed. The building was clean and actually looked like a hotel and very homey. This facility is doing big things! Last but not least, the Administrator Lisa was phenomenal! No nursing facility is perfect, but for me "The Courtyard's" was a very pleasant experience. The interior may be a bit dated and slightly worn, but the employees more than make up for any lack. I felt very safe, comfortable, and at ease there. The nurses were all skilled, polite, helpful, prompt and patient. The CNA's were quick to respond, friendly, nice to chat with, and attentive. The OT's and PT's were kind, gentle, encouraging and skilled. The Housekeeping staff were through quickly and quietly and did their jobs well. The Kitchen staff would send my meals hot, balanced and tasty even as to asking what I would like to eat. The care my aunt receives is beyond amazing. Her care team is so supportive and invaluable. The wound care team is very good and on top of their game. As a nurse myself, I couldn’t have picked a better place to care for her around the clock.

My husband was transferred from another facility to this one. Had heard good reviews about the other one and it was not. Heard this one had on average 3 stars. I thought Id give them a chance. But unfortunately the 3 stars should of been O. Now I understand why! At first they were very attentive. He had neck and back surgery and was unable to walk and move around without any help. Started out good but went down hill. Like they just dont care anymore. He calls for them to come help him to the bathroom. They tell him that they will be there like in 5 minutes or so. They forget or do it on purpose! And they do not show. An hour later he calls them again that he really needs to go to the bathroom!
