For nearly a year now, I’ve had the privilege of entrusting Dr. Wicks and her amazing team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians with the care of our four dogs, and I can honestly say that I am beyond grateful for the exceptional service they provide. Dr. Wicks has been an absolute lifesaver for one of our dogs who struggles with severe anxiety, and her care for another senior dog with the energy and vitality of a puppy has been nothing short of remarkable. She has also shown incredible compassion in caring for our male-reactive dog, treating him with the gentleness and attention he needs. Since moving here in 2021 Surf City Vet and the team has taken outstanding care of my senior kitty. He was experiencing sickness, the staff got him in right away and had him feeling better before lunchtime, to include all labs, fluids given, and scans complete . Haley at the front desk always makes sure we are taken care of, in addition to keeping me updated. Haley is so sweet, helpful, and takes the time to find an appointment that works with my schedule. Love that the adoptable kittens are available to snuggle as well when I have to pick up our cats prescription diet. The office is always clean and we never have to wait to be seen. 10/10. Also this location is super convenient just 3 mins from my doorstep.

I am from out of state. I needed to have my dogs groomed but one of them wasn’t updated on a rabies vaccine. Surf City Pet Hospital was able to accommodate on such short notice. They are professional and kind. I definitely recommend bringing your pets here. They also have adoptable cats that are heaven sent.

I now have mixed feelings about taking my dog here. The girls in the front or those that answer the phones, seem hurried and short most of the time and when in the office they seem to have far less knowledge of the medication you've been given, than other clinics I've been to in years past. This location has been good for "regular check ups, vaccinations, and general heath care but if it comes to an emergency, being a regular patient brings no special privileges in getting my dog in to receive medical attention. Twice in one month last spring, I was turned away and told to go to the "trauma and accident" hospitals in Wilmington or Swansboro for immediate attention...which is NOT immediate given they are BOTH OVER AN HOUR AWAY.
