St. Peter's Laboratory

Was told by St Peter’s Pre-op that I needed to get bloodwork done by this lab and also told I could just walk in, no appointment needed. Got here at 3pm, took number 83 -they were on number 77 so thought great not a long wait. It has now been over an hour and the number is only on 79. Two people in an hour and 15 mins - LONG WAIT. If I didn’t need to get this done I’d have left a long time ago. *Update - once it was past closing time it moved quickly and I will say that both the woman who checked me in and the woman who took my blood were very polite and nice (even while they were being yelled at by another patient for the wait). Perhaps the key next time is to come 5 mins before closing and the wait will be reasonable!

I have used this lab for quite a while now and they were always fast and efficient. Recently, however, they have gone down hill dramatically. The staff has entirely turned over and there were only 2 technicians drawing blood and one person sitting at reception the last time I went. The intercom/speaker used for announcing numbers to call patients no longer works and they sit in another room and scream the numbers, but still patients in the waiting room cannot hear the numbers being called. It would be much more professional for the receptionist to walk into the waiting room and announce a number as opposed to screaming it from her desk. Second time needing blood work and they don’t disappoint . Easy fast efficient and know what they are doing . I have vein compressions amd small veins or narrowing , and they listen to me and no problems . Thank you for knowing your job and being funny and kind in a stressful place usually for me was not !!!

Got here before 7, and was second in line and no one has been called outside the first for over 30 minutes, we were second in line. Everyone is sitting they could have gotten through at least 4-5 at this point. Quite disappointing and not professional. I would suggest another location.

OMG, I went early in the morning thinking I could get blood work before going to work. I sat for half an hour, they called in two people. I had to leave without having blood drawn. It would've been a two hour wait plus at the rate they were going. Go some place else!!
