St. John's Episcopal Hospital

Pre-op testing was done last week, and I was truly impressed. The staff were professional, friendly, and made the experience smooth and reassuring. The care in the main hospital has been excellent. The ER, however, really needs improvement. Long waits and staff appearing disengaged leave patients feeling overlooked. It’s a noticeable gap compared to the strong care the rest of the hospital provides. I’ll update after my surgery, but I hope meaningful changes are made in the ER — the hospital has the potential to deliver consistently excellent care across all departments.

Disgusting service. I am absolutely disgusted, I brought my daughter with cancer in for chest pain- they discharge her abruptly. Then had to bring her back to find out she had pneumonia they missed…now she’s been crying with chest pain for over 3 hours. I wouldn’t recommend you bring anyone here these doctors will leave you to die in a back room by yourself. And God forbid you ask a nurse for help that’s not your nurse they will chew your head off like you personally disrespected them. Absolutely sickening experience, so disappointed in these “healthcare providers”

From the moment I arrived, Dawn at the reception made everything so much easier. She went above and beyond to help me — from checking me in smoothly to making sure I felt comfortable and informed. Her warm attitude truly set the tone for the whole visit. Next, nurse Aideen was wonderful — compassionate, patient, and reassuring. She explained each step clearly and made sure I felt calm and cared for throughout the process. Radiologist Danny was very professional and knowledgeable. He answered my questions, made sure I understood what was happening, and treated me with great respect

The worst hospital in Far Rockaway. They should it keept peninsula hospital open & shut down this St.Johns. Staff are rude,with no emphaty for patients. They emergency dept are so getto, the security guard it's not pleasant have an attitude like he hate that job. You be seeing employees transporting patients from another dept through the emergency waiting area.They don't have rooms they will put you on a stretcher in the hallway by the nurse station with no privacy the staff come and ask you personal stuff in front of the rest of the people. The doctors don't know what the hell they're doing because they do not read the records of the patients or don't put attention to the symptoms patients are experiencing. I live in the community and I always tell my family even if it's an emergency Do

A year ago I had my child here and they put an ig in my hand. During my time in the hospital recovering I kept asking them to take the iv out of my hand because it hurt and they told me to just keep it in my hand because they “Didn’t want to have to put another one in later” if I needed anything else. By the end of my stay my hand was swollen and filled with liquid from the iv bag and was in a lot of pain to which all the nurses did was give me ibuprofen and squeeze the tiniest amount of fluid out of my hand before putting bandage over it and discharging me from the hospital not taking any time to look further at my hand or make sure it was ok. A year later my hand now has issues being able to hold things as simple as a pen for too long and I have a big bruise along with a mark from where
