St Clare Commons

There was a major staffing shortage over the Christmas holiday!! There was alot of neglect because they were full to capacity, but not hardly enough help. My dad did not get the care he should have received. I have a list, not just from my dad and myself, but from others who visited him. I can say one thing good, that the Champlain was very supportive during and after my father passed away. Some staff were also, but very much overworked. 😔 The facility is beautiful, but make sure you are an advocate for your loved ones no matter where they are being cared for.

My brothers and I made the decision to have my 84 yr old mom to moved into in an independent living at St Clare Commons. This has been a great experience. She has bloomed into a very social person and is never in her room. She visits all of the other residents and takes her little dog with her, and the dog has turned into a huge hit. The dog lovers absolutely love her and everyone knows the dogs mom. It is such a huge relief to know my mom is just not happy but very safe. She goes on about how good the food is and she gets lots of steps in on a daily basis, which has helped her outlook. The staff have very kind and attentive to her needs and her uncertainty during the first month of her living there. A one star rating is being given only because I can’t give a zero. My mom was in their rehab facility for roughly 5 months and in those 5 months not a day went by where we didn’t have an issue. Literally the ONLY reason she stayed there was because of the Physical Therapist (and of course our lovely insurance system) If it wasn’t for those ladies (and me going there every day!) there is no way I would have felt any bit of safety leaving her there. I brought up my concerns so many times to so many different people, even Brandon Webb while he was “helping” watch over the facility but it did no good. My mom has been a resident in Memory Care at St. Clare Commons for a year now, and I couldn't be more pleased with the level of care she receives. The new directors who have joined in the past year are incredibly friendly and have truly made a positive impact. I have full confidence in the care my mother receives, and it's reassuring to know that her needs are being met with such kindness. The food is delicious, and I appreciate that I can join my mom for meals. The New Director of assisted living and memory care is highly experienced and has done an excellent job training the staff to provide compassionate care for my mother. Nicole has been absolutely wonderful to work with. She has gone above and beyond to help in any way possible, and was able to get my family member accepted at St Clare, when I was struggling through the process to find them a place to live. She always has a smiling face and is friendly to the patients, their families, and anyone she comes across. There aren’t many people like her that are so willing to help with whatever is needed. I truly appreciate her and I hope that if you’re considering St Clare, that you will enjoy meeting her as well! She made this move easy!
