I didn't know if I would make it out alive.I couldn't get any water, even after my family called the facility.A can of ginger ale was ignored as most of my requests were.I came for rehab for a broken hip.I arrived Fri. Evening so Rehab was closed,I was made to stay in bed until Tuesday. Could not use the toilet and never had a bedpan .I had to remain in bed after I soiled myself.I requested a bedpan many times.I developed a rash all over my buttocks.I lost 11 lbs.in about a week. The Nursing Assistants ran the place. When I did see a nurse all of them were very nice and caring. My roomate kept her tv on loud 24 hrs a day.One of the N.A.said the patient couldn't sleep without it.I sent a message to my daughter to Get me out of here.i will never forget this experience .

Pros: Sara the RT Manager KNOWS HER STUFF. She is also very compassionate and dedicated to the patients wishes. The PT staff are also fantastic but it is clear they don't get the hours/staffing they need to give patients the level of therapy they need. They get rid of staff that does not meet their standards. Cons: As with most places, they seem tp struggle with staffing. Rooms were not filthy but the cleaning was lacking. Some aides were rough and/or rude. When my parent was sent to the hospital, no advocate was sent with him when he was disoriented and unable to speak for himself.

I want to apologize in advance for the awesome and great staff at St. Augustine. The team that assisted my mom when she was admitted there almost killed her. 😡 My mother was admitted to St. Augustine, on March 24, 2021, for rehabilitation. She was discharged from St. Vincent, suffering from infections in both her kidneys, a blood infection, and an infection in her leg. By the grace of God, my mother began to recover. After settling in at Saint Augustine, she asked for some Ensure. They stated that they only have Boost. She waited but never received anything. She asked for some ice chips. She never received that either...She began to feel pain from her illnesses coming on and asked for her medications. They would not comply. Her arm and hand began to tighten and swell severely due to her

My mom came to St. Augustine for rehab after, a car accident, during summer 2024 after suffering cardiac arrest due to neglect at another facility. St. Augustine staff, the facility, and services have been phenomenal. The staff on the 4th floor were amazing and responsive to my mom’s and our needs. The PT/OT staff was caring and worked her hard to help her heal. The social work staff was knowledgeable and responsive. They kept us informed about Medicare and care plan for my mom. The admissions staff was also very nice and helped me out with an issue after my mom was admitted to St. Augustine. If you or a family member needs acute rehabilitation, I recommend St. Augustine. The food is good too!!!

The staff were amazing, including the P.T. staff, who were diligent in working with me to continue to heal and get better so I could discharge to home. Everyone was so caring, and the facility was nice and clean. The only bad thing was the food. Still, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. They truly are the best.
