Kristen is such a gem and we are so thankful we found her. She genuinely cares so much for kiddos. We felt so comfortable with her. Our son was having difficulty with expressive language and we were able to work together on techniques and strategies to help support him. We were also seeing Lila toward the end of our journey and she is equally as amazing! Absolutely recommend this practice.

I cannot say enough good things about STAR. My kid has CP with speech apraxia and finding a local SLP who specializes in total communication and robust AAC was so difficult. I got extremely lucky when I found Kristen, owner of STAR. She is so professional and respectful, takes our CAP-C Medicaid and is so knowledgeable. She walked us through the whole process of ordering a speech device through insurance and how to really lead my kid in AUTONOMOUS communication. While less glamorous, she’s also been a huge help with feeding therapies and motor planning in that regard.

Where do I even start? Before we started working with Kristen, my daughter had been removed from speech and feeding therapy for more than a year as we struggled to find a therapist who understood her unique challenges. Kristen is far and away the best feeding therapist we’ve ever had on our team. She listened to all of our background, approached my daughter on her level, gained her trust, and we’ve seen success after success ever since. When we started with STAR, there was very little oral intake and texture tolerances were very limited. We’ve made great improvements on both fronts and are now working on speech-language development as well. Not only is Kristen a great therapist but she’s also an advocate for her clients. We have worked with Kristen for a few years now and I can’t recommend her more highly! We have a 4-year-old with Down syndrome and feeding complications, and she has progressed leaps and bounds during this time, both with her speech and feeding! Kristen is kind, thorough, play-focused, structured, and gives wonderful guidance and support. Most of all she is compassionate and truly cares about our little one. I am so grateful that we get to work with her.
