Southaven Health Department

Just Rude. The lady that answers the phone always have an attitude. Then you go up there she act like she hates her job. On top of that they puts you on hold for a long time without answering back. Been having to deal with this for a while now. Called for a simple question and she got straight attitude.

I don’t know why state sponsored programs are always so miserable. But I waited a few weeks for the appointment, show up and all my documents were ~wrong~ and although I could pull up any proof they needed on my phone and simply email the staff, they only accept “print outs” in 2025. So I got rescheduled. It just feels like you’re annoying them by showing up. Sucks when there’s no care to help moms and babies, appointments with toddlers are difficult enough….

Been on hold for almost 2 and a half hours just trying to reschedule the time for my appointment. Decided to just come on and drive up here just to see what’s going on. Get here and they have a sign that says they close for lunch from 12-1. Ok that’s cool but it’s 12:48 and I been on hold for 2 hours and 20 minutes. So since 10 something. I haven’t been here in 8 years and they were just like this back then. This is ridiculous. Over time y’all done got worse? Who is supposed to fix these kind of issues? Then be having the nerve to have an attitude… yall getting paid to bullshit around.

If i could give no stars i would !! They hung up in my face for no reason a million times or pretended not to hear me after i talked to them before all i was trying to do was set a appt so if they act like they cant hear u they can!!!also when i was finally in tears shes gonna ask why am i crying ???

I have had wic in Idaho. Idaho was amazing and made me love to have and use wic benefits. When we moved to Mississippi, all of a sudden its like approaching bullies who don't care about your well being. I wasn't even prepared for one of my appointments with what I needed to bring. Wic in Idaho, not only prepared me, but they actually smiled at me or would respond appropriately to a compliment. I can't even say something nice to have a kindness in return from the desoto wic.
