South Shore Hospital

Recently made use of their maternity ward. Entire staff was incredible. They were very comforting while also being professional and very knowledgeable. They responded very quickly whenever we called the staff from our room. We stayed 4 days after the C-section. Only negative I have is the parking situation. Seems the facility has outgrown its parking allotment. But yeah - many thanks to the doctors and nurses who helped deliver our baby and got us up to speed on how to care for a newborn.

I want to share my feedback on my recent experiences at South shore hospital maternal fetal medicine department because it’s important for both other parents and the hospital to understand what happened. During my first visit, I encountered a doctor who was condescending about my choice to have a home birth. Instead of offering neutral support, I received unsolicited opinions and passive-aggressive comments. I was even given misleading information about preeclampsia, which was quite uncomfortable. On my second visit, despite us making it crystal clear—both to the ultrasound tech and the doctor—that we did not want to know the baby’s gender, the doctor used a pronoun that revealed it. I recently spent time at SSH Pratt 4S. The care I received was exceptional by the nursing staff. I was met with empathetic caring individuals who had a way of making me feel like I was their only patient. Living in the Boston area I have often thought I should go to Boston hospitals but I've been shown over the past few years Im sticking with SSH. A special thank you to nurses Julie and Meghan. You walked me through many waves of emotions the past week.You are an asset to the healthcare family!

The staff on the birthing unit are AMAZING! Everyone from the nurses to the doctors and anyone on that floor were all so kind and so patient! They made me daughter feel cared for. They answered all of her questions and they even made all her visitors feel comfortable! Thank you!

My husband was seen in the ER for a bleeding issue. The ER team was amazing. They were very attentive and quickly accessed his needs. He was transferred upstairs and admittedto a room. He was cared for by many different nurses and Drs. Their care and concern was so comforting. He had round the clock care and in a few days was able to Go home with care and follow ups all planned out. Thank you to a great team effect !!
