I do not recommend South Coast Medical Group for primary care, family practice, urgent care, or referrals. As a member of this community for over 30 years, it is disappointing to say this has been one of the most incompetent and unprofessional medical offices I have encountered. Interactions with staff left my overall health and mental well-being worse than before reaching out—an unacceptable outcome for any healthcare provider. Compassionate care was consistently lacking, both in person and over the phone, and I was made to feel like my concerns were an inconvenience rather than a responsibility. Patients deserve respect, accountability, and care—none of which were demonstrated in my experience.

I have been a customer for many years, and the service here has degraded significantly over the past few years. Impossible to schedule a appt. w/ a doctor. If you want to spend your time on hold this is the place for you. Resolving billing issues is almost impossible as no one picks up the phone. I have spent hours on hold the past 2 days to resolve a billing issue, and just tried again today. 1/2 hour hold and finally no one to resolve the issue. Seems they would rather send the bill to collections than resolve billing questions.

Be careful if you're coming here for weight loss. One of the doctors owns a sketchy men's health clinic and will try to refer you to there. They've been my GP for a number of years. Not really the best experience but just kind of a pain to change to someone else. Came in looking for glp prescription for weight loss and they referred me to some weird men's clinic there was Cash pay and gave medication that didn't work because it was some weird off brand generic do you have to go in to get the shot there I'm just super weird enough putting.

This medical group is a blatant rip-off. They charged me $25 for missing an appointment — but here’s the shocking part: there was no call, no reminder, no follow-up message, absolutely nothing. When I called to ask about it, they told me they only do a phone confirmation the very first time, and after that, it’s on me. That is completely unreasonable and feels intentional. How can you not send even a single notice, text, or email in today’s world? On top of that, they don’t even have a proper billing office you can call. To make matters worse, when I spoke to the receptionist, I was told the issue had been “escalated” to the billing office. Yet I have never received a single response from them. Terrible service! For the last 6 weeks I am trying to get an appointment for my annual checks. No one responses. They put an automated phone system that automates error I assume. Unresponsible and unhelpful clinic. Keep away.
