Select Specialty Hospital - Northeast NJ

I visited my uncle at the Select Speciality Hospital. As I entered the hospital the lobby is festive with holiday decorations. Hospital is well lit and tidy. The receptionist was delightful and professional. Sylvia the administer of the hospital is professional and friendly. Social worker Victoria is compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, practical and helpful. Im happy to see my uncle is being taking care of 💙💚💜 Free parking on premises.

Select Hospital was the only long term acute care hospital to accept my elderly mother who had brain surgery at another hospital and got pneumonia there and was given a poor prognosis of recovery. I was even offered Hospice by several doctors for my Mom. But Maha the Liaison Nurse at Select Hospital explained the care my mother would receive and her steps to recovery. I had one very important question if it was your mother would you bring her to Select and without hesitation she said yes. My Mother could not walk, barely talk, and was getting nourishment through an NG tube in her nose and had to be cleaned up over 15 times a day because she couldn’t control her bowel movements. By the time my Mom left after 25 days she was able to walk, talk better, eat and go to the bathroom on her own. I

This place was wonderful all the staff were incredible helpful and kind truly dedicated people all the nurses and doctors took the time to explain and talk to you. I would call every night to see if my husband Frank was resting and to say goodnight to him and they always found time to speak to me and always returned my call. I have never had more of a wonderful experience in any hospital at any time. The rehab ladies Angela and Phyllis were extraordinary in helping. Frank my husband could not do anything till he arrived at Select with the kindness and help of these two wonderful ladies. I could go on and on about this place very clean everyone always smiling CNO Bryant Johnson always was coming by to say "everything ok" or "do you need anything. I have tremendous gratitude to Select Specialty hospital for the wonderful care I received in my time of need. The concern and dedication of the staff is amazing. Dr Alberaqtar and the rest of the medical team took a personal interest in doing all they could to ensure my recovery. A huge shout out to the respiratory team, Luz, Larry, and all the rest for your expertise in weaning me off the ventilator and trache. The therapists, especially Elmer, worked with me to strengthen me and get me started on the long road to independence. The nurses and CNAs were kind, gentle and attentive to my needs. The CEO, Vlad, stopped in often to make sure all my needs were being met. The entire staff was gracious, supportive and helpful to my family members. The facility is clean and well maintained.

Our family cannot say enough good things about this nursing home. The staff was truly amazing—compassionate, attentive, and consistently patient. We always felt that my father was in good hands, cared for with dignity and kindness. In a very difficult time for our family, they provided comfort, professionalism, and genuine warmth. This was by far the best experience we’ve had with a care facility. We are deeply grateful for the way they looked after him, and we would highly recommend this home to any family looking for a place where their loved one will be truly cared for.
