Leaving this review because I think it's very easy to forget to give praise when its due. My mother was recently in a horrible accident which caused her to be taken to the Ryder Trauma. She spent a bit over 2 weeks there and I though I owe them everything for saving her life, It wasn't the best .. but lets be honest, though Jackson does have some of the best doctors and nurses around its a very fast pace unit. which makes it difficult to be involved/updated as one would like. Most (not ALL) of the administration is so dismissive and seem annoyed when you come to them. Its so hard when you're made responsible for another person in the blink of an eye to feel like you're doing the right thing. Please do not hesitate to have a loved one transferred to Select Specialty Hospital Miami. There comes a time in life where one needs to make difficult decisions for your loved ones and choosing this hospital was one of the easiest processes for me. I have encountered my share of personnel in the medical industry and the admissions department at Select Miami made this the smoothest and most stress free for me. My loved one was transferred from Jackson South within 4 hours of receiving the RX for transfer. His room was accommodated immediately, and I was called the minute he arrived and informed on his state of being. Communication is so important, and I cannot stress enough that we all live hectic lives, and unfortunately cannot be at a hospital 24-7, but here at Select Specialty Hospital

Nursing don't speak English what so ever... The doctors treat black people with little to no respect.My mother was treated as a burden and WASNT CLEANED FOR 4 Days straight.The case manager and social workers will lie to you and tell you something will be done about it and nothing will change .They will tell you that will receive a letter from there vice president of the select specialty group and you won't .Then when you advanced therapy and care they lie to you and tell you the only place that will accept both of you insurance companies is their sister hospital in Coral gables. I am writing this because I want to express my sincere appreciation and was very pleased with my experience with Select Specialty Hospital Miami as a family member. I can be a hard critic of hospital care places and the staff employed by them since i myself work in the medical field. This time is my first time to write a review i can tell that this hospital was a world away from previous experiences elsewhere. It was good to be treated with professionalism and caring medical staff. When I say the doctors and all the other employees of this hospital made me and my whole family feel that my mother in safe hands and made it as comfortable as they possibly could.
