Sea Island Ophthalmology

My husband and I have been patients of Dr Seigel for several years. Dr Seigel clearly cares for his patients and their well being. He is very professional, knowledgeable and patient. Unfortunately, because of his staff, we will be seeking care elsewhere. On our initial visit years ago, we were stunned at the cold, unfriendly attitude at the front desk. Having worked in the healthcare field, that is your first impression of a practice. We wanted to give benefit of the doubt, as there’s always a chance someone is having a bad day. Unfortunately, the bad attitude and rude behavior was present in the other staff members. Dr. Siegel recently performed laser guided cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I'm so thrilled with the outcome. Was reticent due to my wet AMD. All of the staff from my initial intake call with Carol were great at guiding me through the process. It can be overwhelming, but they got me through it with patience/kindness and understanding. Which can be rare these days in our health care system.

Recent cataract surgery was very successful. Dr Siegel is excellent. His techs are truly wonderful. But pack your patience! Office visits can stretch far beyond reasonable - even without dilation.

As someone who does not have serious eye disease or require surgery, I will look for another opthalmologist for my routine care. It sounds like he is an excellent surgeon, however, the front desk attitude, scheduling, billing and other mix ups are way too frustrating for me here.

Dr Seigel and his staff are simply the BEST! World class eye care here in Beaufort S.C. I have waited to post until 10 days after my second cataract surgery. The outcome could not be better! 20/20 vision in both eyes!!! Being a photography buff (and working in front of a computer 9 hours a day), seeing things clearly is serious business for me.
