Sanilac County Health Department

As someone who utilized the health department for many reasons, I will say this. Immunizations good, ease of getting birth control good. BUT you need to advocate for yourself with some of the staff. Also, follow up on ALL tests yourself, don't wait for them to call and 'no news is probably good news' isn't something that should be told to clients. Last year, they had referred me to get an ultrasound. No follow up call was made (by both myself or the health department). 7 months later, I'm dragging myself to the ER and end up leaving the er with a cat scan that said possible ovarian cancer and references made to the ultrasound and a spot found during the ultrasound. I want to thank the Sanilac County Health Department for the fine job it did on Jan. 20, coordinating a Covid vaccine clinic for Croswell-Lexington School District personnel (and their family members) at the high school. Everything went very smoothly. All personnel were very courteous and professional. I was impressed. I feel the health department is doing its best during these difficult times. We are lucky to have you all at the health department.

I want to express gratitude for all of the hard work that the Health Department has put in during a global pandemic, and also before Covid19 in keeping our community safe by connecting us to Science. The help of the health department has been great for me and my children for many years. A billboard sign shouldn't grant judgement. Although, I understand people love to hate what they don't understand. Keep up the good work on helping others. Thank you

A “health” department should never advertise abortion as a convenience. They should be helping keep people safe and healthy. Sick that they chose to spend money on that billboard. What am I suppose to say to my curious children when they ask what that billboard is implying? Looks like I’m adding another person or persons to my prayer list. I will pray for the persons responsible for the billboard. May God bless you and fill you with love, especially for those who go unheard.
