I am sharing this review both to document my experience and to request a formal response from San Gabriel Valley Medical Center’s administration. My mother was admitted verbal and stable. During her stay, I was informed that placement of a feeding tube was “life or death” and that she would not survive without it. Based on that representation, I consented. Shortly afterward, she was documented as eating by mouth. After complications involving the feeding tube and catheter removal, my family repeatedly asked whether she had an infection. My father directly asked staff if she had an infection and was told with certainty that she was “perfectly healthy.” At no point prior to discharge were we told she had a severe infection. When discharge planning began, case managers stated it would be e
I neverrrr leave bad reviews, but I feel obligated to because this concerns not only my health, but anybody else who might think to come here. I came to the ER on Friday February 13, 2026 because I had been experiencing pain in my lower abdominal area, which traveled to my lower back too. I was at the end of my period, but cramps are something I rarely experience, especially this late into my period, which I explained to the doctor. The pain was also much more intense and persistent and ibuprofen wasn't working whatsoever. They gave me tylenol while waiting for my blood test and urinalysis results, which I told them didn't help with the pain at all either, but this didn't seem to prompt any further evaluation. They told me everything was normal in my blood test and urinalysis, except for
On November 9, 2025 at 6am I went to SGVMC Emergency Room with severe abdominal pain. There was no waiting and I was taken immediately. The ENTIRE staff were caring and attended to my every need. During my stay one particular nurse was exceptional SONG LAM. He had a happy disposition, empathetic and frequently came into my room to make sure I was comfortable. This made me feel encouraged over my condition. After running many tests, I was given IV antibiotics and discharged quickly within 4 hours. I went home feeling happy and positive over such a good experience. SGVMC is an exceptional hospital. I always choose to go here over any other hospitals in the area. The entire staff works well with each other and you can tell they like working with each other. This is very important to me becaus
I took my nephew to the ER with a possible ankle fracture. They took x-rays, gave him a shot and sent him on his way. Hours later he was in more excruciating pain so we took him to USC Arcadia Hospital. They did a CT scan, identified he had a bad infection (hoping it didn't enter the bones), kept him in the hospital and is now having a procedure done to remove the fluid and infection. There is a pattern San Gabriel hospital follows: Don't do medical due diligence and get them out of here. Forgot to mention, they told him to come back the next day and go to radiology to find out the results. We went the next morning and Radiology said, "We'll call you. No one would ever tell you to come back here." This hospital is a fine example of our broken medical system. Shameful!
I do not suggest going to this hospital. I was forced to go by EMT who should have taken me to Arcadia because that's where all of my procedures were done and that's where they had all of my records but it was a 2 minute longer drive so I had to be tortured for 4 days in order for them to save 2 minutes. Anyways, so all I was at this hospital I was treated like I was acting like a princess all because I wanted hot food, hot coffee, and an extra gown to cover my back with. In oh honesty it I would have taken lukewarm but my coffee was so cold the creamer just floated on top. I asked for a patch and 3 days later was still not given one. I asked for cream to help treat a rash that I had and was not given any. I did not have TV the entire time I was there and there was also no phone for me to ca
