Saint Camillus Hospital

My Aunt stayed here and she loved it. There's not much you can do about being in the last months of your life. She was 92 so when people speak of a depressing atmosphere, what are you gonna do? Being in any one of these places is depressing. But the staff really really cared. They loved her and she loved them. The financing was made easy as the lead finance person really knew what she was doing. It is way out in the boonies but this was a very nice facility with great great people. They make an otherwise very difficult part of life bearable and enjoyable. The staff treats patients and visitors alike with kindness and respect. These were very very nice people and I feel it was one of if not the best care centers available for my aunt Mildred. I've seen many nursing homes over the

I did my first term Nursing clinical rotation at St. Camillus. The staff was very caring and inspirational to us. They put their Resident's care first and it shows. The management is care oriented and was always helpful. The environment was peaceful and the units were very clean. Their teamwork was great and they helped us grow as student Nurses. I highly recommend this facility as they truly care about their Residents.

In 2015, I placed my mother here in their then brand new dementia unit. (I had worked in an adult day care center for over a decade working with elders including those who had various stages of dementia, so I had some ex perience.) Further, I was Mom's medical proxy. They put her on new meds without talking to me, (Cymbalta) to basically keep her and everyone else quiet. (it seemed like EVERY PATIENT in the facility was on Cymbalta and was in a wheelchair) When I complained and started to look into bringing her home (with proper care in place) they went to court and forced me into a nasty custody battle. A guardian ad liteum then listened to me and when Mom was neglected to the point of being unresponsive, the guardian had her examined at the hospital. Diagnosis?Severe malnutrition and

The Saint Camillus "Debilitation" Center is short staffed, very depressing, and the perfect place to send a family member if you are looking to heighten their decline. Our family member was sent for rehabilitation and left in far worse condition than when arriving at the Center. Suspect they keep their patients overly medicated so they will not keep pressing their buzzer.
