Royal Oak Nursing Center

We have had a loved one move into Royal Oak now for about 4 months and we could not be happier. She has lived in three of the local nursing centers and this is by far the only one that truly feels like her "home". We walk into the pleasant smile and greeting from Valerie who makes you feel welcome with her "I truly care" attitude! Then there's Pete and his staff in the nutrition area, serving meals that are better than many of our restaurants in town! At their outstanding Holiday Dinner, I was amazed at how Pete remembered literally everyone's dietary restrictions as they came through the dinner buffet (knowing that our loved one could not have fish...I'm still impressed)! I cannot say enough great things about Royal Oak Nursing Center. My stepfather was transferred there after spending several weeks at another facility where he received horrendous care. His health was deteriorating and my family and I feared for his life. After being transferred to Royal Oak, he started improving immediately. Everyone there from administration down to the cooks and cleaning staff were absolutely amazing! They made sure he was not only taken care of but comfortable and happy. They listened to our concerns and made sure we were informed and updated on everything that was going on with his treatment. My dad is here for a broken hip and has had some complications ( he's 77). The staff is nothing short of amazing! The not only care about the residents they care for their families. The food is also delicious. They have lots of activities. It is also very clean. Hannah my dad's weekend nurse is just the sweetest and most caring. Physical therapy staff is awesome too!

I was pleasantly surprised by the care my mother received when she had to stay for 20/21 days at the Royal Oaks Rehab center.l for a broken pelvis. The first week she was very depressed which I assume is normal, we talked and I told her she had to really work hard in physical therapy so she could come home. She did work really hard, and she made the best of it while she was there. Mom is home now and I think she is doing even better than before she broke her pelvis as her gait was a bit wobbly pre-fall. Now she is doing so much better and I am entirely happy that they took such great care of my mom. When you bring your loved ones here, reassure them that it is normal to be depressed the first week, but tell them they have to eat to keep their strength up and they really have to work hard i

My mother went in for a UTI rehab in a hospital for a week and a half went there for rehab told them that she walks everywhere at home I needed her to be walked to the bathroom in other places in the facility. That was not done in a wheelchair constantly. She went from 150 pounds to 129 pounds in the timeframe that she was there and she was there from October 14 to November 1 put in a diaper when she was continent at all times treated like she was nothing Waited a half an hour for a CNA to come and toilet her. My husband was there and witnessed waited an hour for them to come in and dress a wound and then was made fun of in the hall by by the nurse that she’s nothing but a complainer all the time.
