breakfast, lunch and dinner was not that good, cold and unpleasing, sometimes the chicken is still frozen when served in salads, the hallways smells like crap at times and the viewing areas are hardly swept up, calls to the nurses station went unanswered at times, when discharged and i think an important thing i was told that prescriptions would be called in to our pharmacy that should of been checked by the RN and doc working that day, no heart pill, blood tinner or pain med was not called in i called left message to have them call me on Monday, and Tuesday goes by no call from royal oak, I call there after 3pm had to leave another message, but my mom saw her doctor today and said those meds should have been called in, so she missed 2 days of meds she should of been taking, Question ho

Wonderful Care and Compassionate Staff My father-in-law stayed at Royal Oak for about six months, and we are so grateful for the care he received during that time. The staff were truly fantastic — kind, personable, and attentive. They took the time to get to know him, even going out of their way to bring in some of his favorite snacks, which meant so much to him (and to us). While the building itself is a bit dated, it was always clean and well-maintained. What mattered most was the warm, supportive environment the team created. Thanks to their dedication and encouragement, my father-in-law was able to regain enough strength and confidence to return to independent living. We highly recommend Royal Oak to anyone looking for compassionate, personalized care for their loved one.

Overall, my mother’s experience at Royal Oak was deeply disappointing and concerning. There was a clear lack of communication between staff, administration, and medical personnel, which led to serious lapses in her care. Basic hygiene and medical orders were neglected. Calls to the nursing station often went unanswered, and messages left were never returned. Critical issues were not addressed in a timely manner. While we ultimately moved her to a different facility where the care was excellent, I would not recommend Royal Oak based on what we experienced. Families deserve better for their loved ones. We have also reported our concerns to the appropriate state agencies for follow-up.

I stayed here for 3 months. I would rate it iffy. Some of the aids were great but some were not so great. I was frustrated more than once trying to get changed. I had c-diff and some aids were very attentive where others said they'd be right back and not come back. The therapist there were excellent. I was happy with them. I went from not walking at all to finally coming home and only needed my walker my first 2 days home. The food was sometimes great other times not so much. I kept getting the c-diff back while I was in there I believe it's because my bedding wasn't changed daily. Usually when I had an accident. The doctor I seen maybe 3 times the entire time I was there. It wasnt horrible but besides the therapy it wasn't great.

The staff at Royal Oak has been phenomenal. Rick, Sam and Carissa were very welcoming when my father was admitted and the nurses and aides have been great during his time here. Thank you Royal Oak Staff!
