Riverside Walter Reed Hospital

Missed a sepsis diagnosis for a family member receiving TPN. Returned three days later because of even higher fever. Was brought in by ambulance and left in waiting room. I took them out AMA and drove her to Saint Mary’s where they were immediately hospitalized. If it might be something serious, and you can take chances on driving, or if your best chance relies on driving, do go to a larger hospital center with more experience. They will not recognize and transport you the way they should.

Staff is nice and facilities are clean, however that doesn't mean much when your medical practicing is extremely inaccurate and you don't listen to your patients. CHOOSE ANOTHER ER IF POSSIBLE! spent hours in the ER, all sorts of tests only for them to say I have appendicitis... I don't have an appendix though! I then called VCU told them what was going on and demanded a transfer. Still had to pay riverside for nothing though.

I’m very clostraphovic and was scheduled for an MRI on January 15. I had scheduled and rescheduled many times because of my phobia. The technician, first name Fatima was so very calming and understanding and kind. That’s where she belongs and deserves all the thanks I could give her and then some. She’s an awesome young lady!

Receptionist is not patient friendly and you will have a hard time to figure out what is going on wirh your family members. I had a hard time to figure out where my husband was as he was there and came directly from colonoscopy to emergency room. He have high blood pressure for a long time (it is in his mychart) but i believe they forgot to check it. So ....scheduled procedure....start procedure....then they noticed that he have high blood pressure ....stop procedure....put him im emergency room....As i called nobody told me, only that he is finish with procedure in 20 min. So i was waiting and wondering. I called again, now they told me about emergency room. I had a few years ago a very bad experience also as i was there with a bad migraine episode....it made me feel that they really don

Dr. Sundershan Gupta was not only extremely professional, knowledgeable and very efficient but he was empathetic, he listened and he displayed a genuine care and concern. He came to the room many times to check on my father and his progress and did everything with a smile and it was even his birthday. I wish he could be my dad’s primary care doctor but I know he is saving many lives in the emergency room at Walter Reed!
