Customer Reviews
My daughter Josie was seen for dehydration in the ER. It was an incredibly long wait and the providers were working diligently to help everyone. We saw several doctors but Dr. Park stood out the most. Her bedside manner was amazing for my 5 yr old and she was calm and patient but very thorough! She explained everything easily to mom and dad and really seemed genuine when it came to the children. There were a few helpers that came in to give Josie play doh and a Frozen book with stickers, they were incredibly kind. One nurse stated she couldn’t do her job as well without them! Great support to the staff! Also our discharge nurse Paige was so kind. The nurse who put in my daughter’s IV was wonderful as well but I did forget her name. She was quick, funny, and very thorough. My child died here, whilst I’m grateful for some of the staff, we experienced the worst treatment we’ve ever experienced in a medical facility. From being yelled at by a charge nurse for pump parts being by the sink(she could have kindly told me, I had no idea it was a problem, a freshly post partum mom that just had to drive over an hour after a precipitous labor to be with their dying child, really could have used some kindness), to being from out of town and told the only way our parents could come back to the room was if we agreed to stop care. Our child was receiving cooling treatment. All this after they refused to let us delay vaccines to careflight. My oldest had seizures after hers and I wanted to wait. That didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. If I could do it over again I would have
When my daughter was 8 months old, she suddenly became very ill. Over several weeks, I sought help from three different hospitals in Florida as well as her primary doctor. Despite her worsening condition—difficulty breathing, refusing to eat or drink, no wet diapers, weight loss, and extreme fatigue—she was repeatedly diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. Each time, I was reassured her lungs sounded clear and was sent home with prescriptions for suction devices, Tylenol, albuterol, and steroids. We eventually moved to Indiana, but her health continued to decline. By the time I brought her to Riley Children’s Hospital, she had dropped from 18 pounds to 14 pounds, had not reached her motor milestones, and sounded like she was struggling to breathe with every movement. Unlike the o
I have nothing but, positive things to say about this hospital. But, there's always that one small thing. I do love the fact that my sons surgery wasn't scheduled til 1030am and they got him back by 930. It was supposed to be a 4 hr surgery and was only an hr and a half! Very impressive. Dr. Cordez did an amazing job. They kept me updated on everything going on. It was alittle disheartening to hear he would possibly have to go back to surgery but, I understand things happen. We stayed overnight when we wasn't supposed to but, that's ok. The only thing I didn't particularly like is you have to buy a food tray even if you're the patients only guardian but, hey you have to make money somehow. They do have a Ronald McDonald house that offers free meals and snacks so can't complain.
The entire staff of the hospital, from the ER all the way to the 9th floor where he was admitted were very kind, courteous and absolutely professional. The wonderful doctors, Nurses Sara, Renee, Kevin and Morgan. They all really do care. The doctors, the nurses the people that brought him games and items for paintings, they are all awesome. The cleaning lady, X-ray techs, thank you all so much!
