Publix Pharmacy at Lady's Island

I decided to switch my pharmacy to Publix in Beaufort for myself and my children. Today was my first time picking up a prescription there for my son—a stool softener that his pediatrician called in. The pharmacist, Jordan, tried to charge me almost $30 and told me that insurance didn’t cover it. He then tried to give me an over-the-counter generic instead and said he could apply a discount code. Because I work in the medical field, I knew something wasn’t right. I told him again that my child has insurance, and only then did he actually run it. Once he did, it covered 100%—just like I already knew it would. I was able to get the exact medication the pediatrician prescribed without paying out of pocket. I’m not sure why insurance wasn’t run the first time or why pharmacists aren’t trained

Refused to consult with prescribing physician regarding high-risk Rx, said to just tough it out with over the counter, less effective options that negate the EMERGENCY ROOM $$$$ VISIT Charge money that I spent. They REFUSED to even contact the doctor about this older, generic, cheap but UNACCEPTABLY HIGH RISK Rx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BE WEARY!!!!!!

Website doesn't work, don't call when prescription is ready, and no one answers phone when you call. Other than that, its a great system.

This is for the PHARMACY ONLY!!! Lady's Island pharmacy's manager, John, was so abruptly rude to me today. I had walked there for exercise to pick up a prescription. I had an old driver's license for id purposes, but apparently it has to be one that isn't expired; and, don't try to use a photo from your phone of any others. I was merely asking if I could do the latter, and he replied from afar (not at the register with me), loud enough for others to see/hear---NO! no, no, no! I was completely abashed by this. WOW! NOT a fan. I'm also looking to review/report his NON-customer friendly attitude!

I have to say that the publix pharmacy on lady's island is one of the most helpful group of people I have met. They answer any question that is given to them to the best of their ability, work as fast as they can despite the number of staff they have on hand any day of the week, and I believe this is all thanks to their wonderful management Ian and Jon.
