Ptarmigan Pediatrics

I was asking around for a doctor for my daughter before she was born and my doctor told me about ptarmigan pediatrics. They have 2 different care offices one that does the urgent care for kids and the other one ( which the office’s are all one building but separated ) for kids doctor appointments and check- ups. And I never have trouble getting a hold of them or getting my daughter in for an appointment. I don’t know how many times I would have that problem with adult doctor’s offices example cottonwood creek is has the worse office employees but the doctors are great.

Dr. Allison McLellan, MD She is absolutely phenomenal! Blue hair, pink shoes, great taste in music AND connected with my oldest kiddo when I couldn't. She sat there and took the time to connect, to listen, and to educate. She and her MA actually seem to read the chart before going in the room. I don't feel like I have to re explaine anything we've talked about previously. I will be forever grateful to her and the time she took to figure out what was going on with my kiddo. Wasilla is a city now whether or not we accept it. But Dr. Alli still has that small town connection with her patients. My kids will go to her as long as they are kids and she is still practicing in the valley. Thanks again for all that you have done and continue to do

Dr. Bruce Hess is everything you hope for in a pediatrician. Thorough, patient, and genuinely caring. He never rushes us, explains everything clearly, and truly listens to our concerns. His PPA, Emily, is just as wonderful. She’s gentle, reassuring, and always makes sure we feel supported and informed. We trust them completely with our daughter’s care, and every visit gives us so much peace of mind. I highly recommend Dr. Hess and Emily.

I’ve been here before and seen other providers, this time I was scheduled with Allison McLellan. She just wasn’t a good fit for us. We came in with a packet of paper filled out to bring to our appointment and she said since we homeschool those don’t apply since there’s not a “teacher” to fill out the paperwork. Well, I let her know I disagreed since, I am in fact his teacher and can give insight on where he struggled during school hours vs his daily activity. She began focusing on vaccinations as well and when I said that wasn’t my focus point at the moment she made us feel shamed. She also mentioned that being it’s 2025, we needed to talk about insurance before talking about which route we wanted to take. (Working in the medical field myself), I hate the fact that a medical decision/step

I just want to leave an amazing review for a specific provider, Jen Thomas. Breastfeeding was difficult for me from the moment my son was born. I tried one thing after the other and just nothing seemed to work for us. We had to move to formula on day one because it was so beyond painful and the lactation consultant in the hospital basically just told me “don’t let him suck like that” and left. It took two weeks after he was born to get the courage to schedule with Jen. I rallied up the courage and was ready to walk in and threaten the people’s elbow if another provider suggested it was only painful because I was doing it wrong. I got the absolute opposite.
