PruittHealth - Carolina Point

Came in to visit my aunt today and I was horrified by the staff I tried to ask a question and I was given a sarcastic and rude response complete with eye roll by an aid with no name tag who smelled of marijuana and body odor. Health care has gone so far down hill in this state and its clear staff have stopped caring about the residents. I will say the facility is clean and the receptionist at the front was actually very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately you get what you pay for with these facilities so it could always be worse. At least its not the Brian Center Southpoint Rehab.

My husband was admitted to PruittHealth Carolina Point for short-term rehab after a terrible motorcycle accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. At first, I thought he was being cared for, but within weeks, his health started to spiral and what I uncovered was horrifying. Despite my consistent presence, visiting most days and sending family or friends when I couldn’t, my husband became malnourished, dehydrated, and dangerously ill. I have visited this facility several times in the past few months. The building is always clean. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. The grounds are kept neat and clean, which is refreshing compared to other facilities I have visited. I have also noticed that the nursing staff has increased which is an indication that they are focused on providing exceptional patient care. Kudos Carolina Point

A good friend of mine used to be at other Pruitt location in Durham. I had asked her to be sent to Pruitt Carolina instead. This place is better for her. Also the Director of this location seems to know what she is doing. I am praying that things continue to go in a better direction for other residents too.

When my mother first got to Pruitt Health in December they displayed kindness and understanding especially for this type of transition. As time went on true colors emerged. As of right now I am deeply dissatisfied with the level of care my mother is receiving at Pruitt Health Skilled Nursing Facility. While there are a few staff members who are very kind, compassionate, and professional, this is unfortunately not consistent across the board. Some of the staff seem disinterested and are not as attentive to my mother’s needs as one would expect in a care facility. I can only imagine how residents that don’t have family are being treated.
