Providence Healthcare of Thomaston

This is one of the worst nursing homes I have ever visited, and I had initially decided to place my mother here. While some of the staff are exceptional, I encountered significant issues when dealing with the director, Renee. She exhibited unprofessional behavior when I inquired about insurance coverage for my mother, which I had already been paying. Renee informed me that they do not provide this service, and I should contact the Social Security office instead. However, upon calling the Social Security office, I was told that the nursing home can indeed facilitate this process. Despite this, Renee continued to insist that they could not assist with insurance coverage, implying that it was my responsibility to manage this aspect. I came here to deliver an DoorDash order at 5:55 “ish”, so I followed the instructions from the customer who wanted the order to be delivered at the front desk, so the front door was locked, and the employee (black woman, grey outfit, and braids) who is standing at the desk. She has a rude attitude and was being snobby at me and I was just trying to drop off the order at the front desk for an customer. People like her, should not have a job if they want to disrespect someone.

Back in January my sister and I talked to Lexie about placing my Mom with Providence, because she needed around the clock care. We told Lexie about the bad reviews and she responded by saying it had a new owner who bought the nursing home 2 years ago and she was hired about a year and a half ago. The owner and herself have been working to improve Providence as it used to be. So my sisters and I placed my Mom in this facility. I can honestly say they took very good care of my Mom. I have no complaints what so ever. The nurses, Tamika and Regina, went out of their way to care for my Mom. The food they brought to Mom, three times a day, was very good. My sisters and I were very appreciative of what all they did for my Mom. This facility is much improved from what it used to be. But as wit

Terrible Facility.The people in charge are nasty, rude and careless. Visited my mother on yesterday day around 1pm and I walked on staff discussing the Aide that is having sex with the patient. My mother’s light had been on over 15 minutes , but that was the conversation of entertainment. I’m begging my sister to remove my mother from that place. We have received several calls from nurses for two months , telling me how I need to ask questions about my mother and how she don’t get changed during the hours of the people who are in charged. DON and social worker hides information about my mother’s health and her care. I have been in Thomaston for 13 years and this is the worse group of managers I have experienced.

If you care about your love ones! DO NOT PUT THEM HERE! If I had known how they treat the patients. My mom was under hospice. They didn't report to hospice when she fell. Then they claimed they did. So how could they when the administrator didn't know about the fall. Which resulted in a brain bleed for 5 days. It wasn't until the next fall.They finally reported it to hospice. Which hospice requested trip to ER. That's when we found out about the brain bleed. They never called me to check on her at the hospital. They even discharged her from the nursing home. They didn't even ask if she was coming back. But they called the day she was being discharged to come home. But why if you already discharged her. Then I had to be escorted in and out of the nursing home. When I went to get her stuff.
