not 1 not 2 not 3 BUT 4 people including myself walked out of tuomey hospital last night because the staff were so rude and no one was getting service. I came in the ambulance with a 102 fever and kidney stones/kidney infection and they left me in the lobby for an hour before then asking me to stop cussing when I was on my phone "not even talking loud"! I had to pay for a Uber to manning hospital just to get service "after I already caught an ambulance to tuomey" and the second I left the dr called me asking why I leave and they have a bed now 😂🙄 I can't believe they can get away with the shit they do to people. we don't come there to get verbally harassed or talked to like a child we already sick 😑 do better Sumter fr

Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend came in and needed and IV. The nurse didn’t know what she was doing leaving my boyfriends arm bruised to hell. They took him out of the room in the bed and under the bed was dried blood and the floor was filthy. The nurse was also smacking her gum very loudly and she didn’t wear gloves or a mask. The nurse and some other hospital stall were making “that what she said jokes”. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!

I wouldn’t recommend this place for labor and delivery. I was mortified by the lack of care I received. I had untreated pain during labor epidural analgesia (PLEA). I was temporarily paralyzed and experienced severe upper back pain. When I asked for help, they refused to listen. They ignored my requests and continued to forcibly move my body, causing excruciating pain in my spine and upper back. (The upper back pain started after two nurses complained that they couldn’t lift me after the epidural and insisted that I move myself. I asked them to get additional assistance to help flip me; instead, they coached me on how to pull myself up. This review deserves 0 stars based on the unprofessionalism of Dr Avery Cecil Collins at the OB/GYN clinic at Prisma Health/ Tuomey Hospital in Sumter SC. On January 12, 2026 I went to my scheduled “pre-op” appointment with Dr Collins in preparation for an upcoming surgery with him, which was scheduled for 2 weeks later. I arrived at my appointment, checked in, was taken to do labs, then went to the exam room. When Dr. Collins entered the room, I began to ask questions pertaining to the actual surgery, anesthesia and other medical concerns I had. I asked Dr Collins did he have another practice at another location or was the Sumter location his only location. Dr Collins “frowned” and asked me WHY! I attempted to explain why I asked however, Dr Collins was clearly offended and upset.

My husband took our daughter there and Dr came in and said she is sending her prescription over to Walmart. Hubby went to the lobby for check out and they said No. They don’t know which Dr and said she have to moved to a Hospital room and wait for next Dr to come in. They need a better communication from Dr to staffs or nurses. My daughter said she is hungry. She is 3 years old and they told my husband she can’t eat until the next Dr comes in and they don’t know how long. I am out of town for work and very frustrated to hear my daughter crying for food and no one seems to care. Worse part my husband said nurses behind the glass window gave middle fingers to each other. Finally Seth brought a turkey sandwich to my daughter. Thank you for caring. That place needs more of someone like you.
