THIS HOSPITAL.... Ya'll, I was miserable. Truly miserable, so let me start there. I'd already had antibiotics, finished them two weeks prior, and was still feeling super sick! I asked my sister to take me to the ER, but I was suuuuuuuper nervous about Prisma Richland. Though I'd been there once before and had a good visit, my sister said they had really low ratings. But I was desperate at this point so I said, whatever, take me! I get into the ER, all nervous like 😬😒...., it looks like any other ER. Workers are working, front desk people are cool. OK, I'm taken back into the ER, we do all the things. I notice that everyone is pretty cool. They're patient, answering any questions, not rushing me, good attitudes, great experience in the ER. I'm admitted and moved up to the eighth floor, sho
I had to visit the emergency room and, like many people, I read the reviews beforehand. After seeing several concerning comments, I was a bit hesitant, but I chose to focus on the positive ones—and I’m very glad I did. From the moment I walked through the doors, my experience was nothing short of excellent. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and everyone I encountered beyond that—from the technicians to the nurses and physicians—was kind, professional, and genuinely caring. I can’t speak to the negative reviews, but I’m grateful that my experience was completely positive. Thank you to the entire emergency room team for the compassion and care you provide!
I’m honestly not sure why this hospital has so many bad reviews. This review is solely based on labor and delivery, and my experience was excellent. I recently moved from NOVA (Northern VA) and was very hesitant to give birth in SC, especially with our first baby. After struggling to get appointments with other recommended practices, Prisma had same-day availability—and from that point on, everything was positive. From the moment we arrived for my scheduled C-section, the entire staff was kind, helpful, and reassuring. As someone with high anxiety around procedures and pain, I truly felt heard and cared for. My pre-op nurse, Jenna, was amazing—she even answered my call the day before and ended up being my pre-op nurse the day of the c-section. The anesthesiology team was also fantastic:
It took me a few days to warm up to this place, overall in the end… the nurses are great! The food servers are delightful (food isn’t terrible) I think I passed on one meal. The doctors could use a class in communication, seems issues can be said aloud… but yet the doctors team doesn’t fully listen and express to others. I really enjoyed my 10 day stay. (Day one right out of surgery was rough and I left an awful review, which I am now revising). The team that took care of me was very good, prompt and it was heartfelt care that I received. I’m happy to have had my surgery here and I would do it all again if needed. These are wonderful people; I tried to get them all out an apology for my rough behavior, as I was just out of surgery and assumed there wasn’t the proper care.
Went to the ER Feb 6th, 2026. I'm from out of state and visiting my grandma. Unfortunately my sister and I sat there for 5 hours and had no exam done. I was losing time with family so we decided to leave since they took up the whole day. Returned home and received a bill for over $600. Asked for an itemized receipt which didn't tell me anything except the level visit. Called to contest and haven't heard anything back. Also in the patient portal, there is no history of the bill being placed on hold during this process. I also was not asked if I had insurance.
