In 2022, I traveled to Detroit at the invitation of someone I had called my best friend for over 15 years. He told me he was giving me a safe place to heal. Instead, I walked into one of the most degrading and dangerous situations I’ve ever experienced. When I arrived, the house was dilapidated, smelled of urine and feces, and my room had only a single sheet. There was no food in the house. Every time I used my own money to fill the refrigerator, my friend and his boyfriend used the food to cook for themselves and others, leaving me hungry. They ate full meals in front of me but never offered me anything. The bathroom was so filthy it was barely functional. Sad thing is I was born here in 1991 and last I remember was at age 3 I was put in here for like 10 days and everywhere was pink and smelled and the hospital popped up in my head just now like I wonder how the hospital doing and I read all 1 star reviews like is it really that bad still and private owed . I also heard that people go in and don't come out . Which I'd believe now bc all the reviews and now seeing hospitals are killing patients for organs . 🤔🤔🤔 hope not true but just seen it somewhere else on the news

This hospital is owned by private equity and you should avoid it at any and all cost if you want to survive.

Terrible place to send your loved one. I know personally, that it’s hard to find a place for your loved one to go to but don’t send them here. There is no phone number to the nurses station and when I went there to get one they gave me the wrong number. So even if your loved one writes your name down you still will be getting no one. Then my loved one called me after 2 days and they medicated him so much that he couldn’t give me the number to the nurses station. He couldn’t tell me what medication they were giving him either. It was awful and a quick call bc he wanted to lay down and go to sleep. The next day he finally asked for a number for his nurses and he could tell me one medication they were giving him. He seen a Dr for 5 minutes if that a day. No therapy. Just medication and they d

My loved one made the best out of this situation, so glad she is home with us now. This place is so sad, released today and missing half of the items she came with including her coat. It’s NOVEMBER,really??! Anyways, mental health crisis definitely should be divided into categories. There is no reason why you should have an aggressive angry unpredictable person next to someone that is suicidal. How depressing, smh! The patients are bullies with the phones and it was just an overall sad experience. I am traumatized. Michigan need to come look at this facility, talk about mental issues, it seems impossible to get well in an environment like this. Please run!!
