I was fortunate to be scheduled with Dr Pohlel as an urgent referral. It was a week later when I was called with an appointment. I did not realize the procedure for "urgent". The scheduler will evaluate the potential patients records and then make an appointment best matching the needs of the patient with the providers specialities. To have been matched with Dr Pohlel was a blessing. He listened to me and validated my concerns which was so worthwhile to me. Everyone was efficient, kind and to a person, very apologetic for the lack of parking. The only parking available at my arrival time (for a 9:10 appointment) 8:45 on that Thursday was the Piedmont Hospital Emergency Room below deck parking.(about 1/2 mile from office) Apparently "parking is an issue". I met with NP Kent Lyda on 12-8-2025 @ 2:30pm @ 242 King Ave. Athens, GA 30606. He came in and asked, "how I was doing?" I said, "fine." He said, "after today I will no longer need to see him." I said, "thanks for everything. " NP Lyda then asked, "have I ever had a stroke?" I said, "no and I don't want one either." He then said, "he was taking me off of Eliquis 5mg but don't throw the Eliquis away." He went to make sure it was OK by Dr. Poole. I never saw Dr. Poole. I didn't see any written or verbal notes by Dr. Poole. I've been having slight headaches as of 12-30-2025. I just had visited with Dr. Poole on 11-10-2025 @ 242 King Ave Athens, GA and he didn't say anything about taking me off Eliquis. He changed my metoporal to another drug. Met NP Musser, she was kind, concerned and knowledgeable. Listened to all my concerns and explained all options for care. Took away any anxiety and fears I had. She was great!

My husband was scheduled to see Dr. Poole. However, when he arrived, all he saw was a NP. Also, we didn't see a man doctor or male nurse around. It was all women. Low patient qualified care. It was more like a clinic money maker.

My experience here at doctor Poole and his team was awesome doctor Poole shows so much concern for his patients he tells you straight up what he's thinking causing the problem and tries to do what's best for his patients. I really enjoy coming here him and his friendly staff are awesome.
