I hate to make this review. But truth is, future patients deserve to know what to expect when coming here. The nursing staff really try, and our friendly but this location is so understaffed (their words not mine), the communication between staff and patient might be the worst Ive ever seen but perhaps worse is the infighting between staff. They dont communicate to each other causing incredible confusion. My father was omitted after emergency appendix surgery was needed, where he stayed for 6 days. I try to be a very patient person, and I understand that working in the medical field is challenging and at times very thankless but this was a horrible experience. The Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center was awesome. Three nights ago I was involved in a very serious auto accident. A car crossed the center median and hit us head on. Luckily the air bags did their job. I received a punctured lung and could barely breath and my wife had numerous injuries. The emergency room treated me immediately and very professionally. I had to have a tube inserted into my chest for my lungs. My wife had a torn intestine that required immediate surgery. The next day she received surgery for a broken clavicle and broken ankles. The doctors (and there were many) were overwhelmingly helpful and communicative and explained everything. I love dr tee and the whole staff no complaints at all they are well organized and efficient and it shows they have intergity in the office all of them I am glad that I switched doctors I am so well pleased that I switched doctors and made a change for my health. Which is better for me. And they actually listen and pay attention I stead of brushing me off. Happy patient ☺️

If you hate your family members, bring them here. If you care about them, for the love of God, do not entrust Holy Spirit Hospital with their care. My wife and I were hospitalized after a wrong-way driver caused a six-car accident that paralyzed her. During her stay, the staff made numerous medical errors that could have killed her. Only after we threatened legal action did they approve a transfer to a competent hospital. Additionally, they stitched my face closed with a 4mm piece of glass below my left eye, despite it being clearly visible on a CT scan. I later had to have surgery to have it removed. Never will I ever take any of my family to this hospital again! I had my son in the ER in horrible pain with vomiting and they left him sit in the hallway for 7 hours with no pain meds or anti nausea meds, saw no one until I went to the nurse and asked what was going on. FINALLY 7 HOURS later saw a PA who did the worse exam I have ever seen THEN gave him meds AS WE WERE BEING DISCHARGED!!! They left him go ALL DAY with nothing, throwing up and crying in pain...... I called and filed a complaint and the sorry excuse for an Emergency Dept Medical Director stated that " the standard of clinical care was appropriate for his visit" REALLY!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!! It was NEVER EVER like this when it was just Holy Spirit!! It makes me sick to think I spent 15 years working there.
