I have known Dr. Brian W. Garrick for almost 30 years. During that time, he has become more than just a veterinarian but is truly a lifelong friend. Since the 90’s, he has successfully treated my exotic pets including my female bobcat until she passed at the age of 20, my hyacinth macaw who is now 22, Quaker parrot, over 20 different livestock of all sizes and species as well as my dogs and cats. He is extremely knowledgeable and diligent in all that he does. His practice is well kept and office staff… friendly as well as accessible. I would be confident recommending Pembroke Pines Animal Hospital for your avian companions as well as other beloved pets, exotics and more.

I took both my turtle and rabbit here years ago and had a horrible experience with this place. After reading recent reviews of how incompetent and rude Dr. Garrick is I feel I have to add my piece. Garrick let my rabbit die and didn’t even care he was so rude and cold and unhelpful about the whole thing and had i brought her anywhere else she would have probably survived. I brought my turtle in needing radiographs and he left my turtle alone on X-Ray table and was trying to send me home without her. He completely forgot my turtle, the entire reason i was there. She could have walked off the table and died. This “Doctor” should have retired years ago, he is obviously incapable of performing adequate care.

Dr Garrick is an amazing vet. I would recommend everyone take their pets to him. I have since moved from the area, but Guava and I sincerely appreciated his expertise. If it was affordable to fly down just for her annual visits we would!

I’ve been bringing my pets to this clinic for years, but after my recent experience, I can no longer trust them with the care of my animals. I brought in my 11-year-old cat due to a lump on his lower back that had recently opened. Despite the obvious concern, no tests were performed—no blood work, no biopsy, not even a basic check to determine if the lump was an infection or something treatable. The vet immediately assumed it was a tumor and vaguely stated, “it’s bad,” without offering any diagnostic evidence. He recommended surgery that would leave a large scar, and only then suggested we could choose to test the removed lump if we wanted. This is not proper veterinary protocol—especially for a cat who, up until that visit, was eating well, showing affection, and behaving normally. Commun

I have been to several vets in Pembroke Pines over the years and this office is my favorite. Dr. Garrick is attentive and efficient. The ladies at the front are always ready with a warm smile and there is hardly ever a wait for service. They are quick to accommodate any last minute scheduling or changes as well. Their dynamic is exactly what you’d like to find at your local vet office.
