Park Bridge Nursing Home

Absolutely shocking experience! My Mom was sent here by Kaiser Oakland. She had multiple events that required trips to the ER. After 2-3 times, the Admin told us something unbelievable. They suggested that they should just close the door and let her die. We reported this to Kaiser, and they pulled her out of Park Bridge.

No hot water pretty much ever, Incompetent staff, no one ever pays attention to nurse call lights, loud, patients never see doctor, twice ive missed 2-3 doses of medication because they don't keep up with filling prescriptions, showers allowed only 1-2 times a week and they are disgustingly dirty, and that's if there is hot water on your shower day, food is mostly gross, 2-3 people per room and only one tv so you better want to watch the same thing as your roommates, run down, smells bad, almost missed a doctor's appointment because even though i told them they didn't arrange transportation. Only nice thing about the place is the one row of bedrooms with patios on the water but if you don't have the window bed you can't see the view anyway. While the facility could use upgrading (my bed was somewhat broken), the staff was caring and competent - nursing assistants, RN's and doctors. The food was tasty considering it was a health facility, and I didn't wait long for my requests. I was there for 8 days which ended with a quick transport to Kaiser ED and emergency surgery due to an aneurysm. It was the efficient and caring staff that discovered the aneurysm and acted quickly . They saved my life! I will always be grateful.

Worked here as a temp and really enjoyed the friendly staff and seeing all the events they put on for the residents. Every nurse knows each resident by name and is active in keeping their needs tended to. Each day was a different type of entertainment from live music to games like indoor bowling. Most residents really enjoy the food which is mostly American favorites like burgers, meatloaf, fish, pork chops. Would have no problems sending my relative here knowing how passionate the staff are.

I haven't seen my 94 yo mother for over 6 months. She fell out of bed 2 weeks ago and they won't let me speak with her. I have called everyday and the phone rings and rings, then the nurses disconnect the calls and never call back. I've repeatedly asked when I've been able to reach a nurse to call me when mom's awake - and they won't. We pay $14,500 and I would assume being able to speak with her only family would be the best RX. But this is a misogynistic organization - they only recognize my estranged brother - and we're 50/50 co-successors. I handle all of her business though, and have supplied PB staff all of her legal documents. Her case worker hasn't called me for over a year. I'm calling the APD for a wellness check.
