One Hurley Plaza

Not sure where to even begin with how terrible this so called hospital is. After sitting and listening, asking questions, and watching while my family member was a patient here I can say the only good part of this hospital is the ER and NICU, other than, that please go to another hospital. I will share what I witnessed here. The nurse aides lie, they say they do things and chart things they have not actually done. Poop covered towels and urine filled “hats” stay on the bathroom floor for over a day. The smell is terrible. There are certain nurses who are actually appalled when they start their shift and find these things. But others who just leave it where it sits on the floor or in the sink, mind you these are not private rooms. After talks with my family members and different nur

Cath lab nurses are terrible. Rude, argumentative, zero empathy. I get out of anesthesia and I'm obviously upset because I have to live like this, on 4 different cardiac meds at 35. No burning done she goes " its good they didn't find bad tissue, Nurse had zero compassion when I had a melt down after she said that. ( blonde? Green scrub cap with flowers. short snarky one.) She looked at me like i was disgusting and said " im not dealing with this ill just put you refused vitals. " then walked out of my room. Which I did not refuse vitals, she just doesn't know how to deal with a distraught patient. Asked for charge nurse, bearded dude smacking his gum said there is no charge I run the show. Total s show. Vitals not being monitored because I was so out of it and upset the nurse gave up and

I spent 4 month 's in Hurley hospital. Probably more but you can't mark any days off because you are móstly dead. Best trauma unit, best cardiac emergency, best burn surgical unit in the state . Overworked, underpaid, they deal with whiney babies all the time. Don't complain about a slight individual small problem when behind the scenes these people care, and dig deep into themselves for the strength, courage and mental fortitude that save lives. Relative had surgery last week here in the SAME DAY SURGERY-blue elevators west. He was very nervous but the RN on duty that he got in room pre surgery was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING & OUTSTANDING. His name is Brian. I wish everyone would be able to have him helping this nailbiting experience. Friendly, humorous, helpful, trustable, knowledgable & useful information when we had questions. There were several other nurses on duty we could have got pre-op but Im so thankful for Brian. He went above & beyond & we could tell he loved his job & the patients. Out of the other nurses we did see, Brian stood out the most...stood out waaayyy more & I want him to know that we are grateful for him & he is appreciated & made a huge impact on the day & helped it be positive & made a hospital visit not so bad af

Went in for Bronchoscospy today was treated so very nicely. I had the best nurse in the world ,her name was René. She was so kind and compassionate, and treated me very nice. I wish all the nurses were like her, I would come back here just to have her for my nurse. She is the sweetest nurse ever. Thank you René for taking care of me, I am so grateful for your kind spirit, may the Lord continue to bless you each and every day, and may His face shine upon you as you continue to work with others every day.
