My grandfather is in there on hospice. They refuse to consult palliative care. They tell us they have and then the next day they have not been consulted. No one goes in the room to check on him. We have been there for hours and not one person comes in. They do not give his pain medications. I asked about a fentanyl patch they said it’s not ordered, and stated the lidocaine patch was the same thing. Nursing has no clue how to look things up or care for patients. The social Worker tried to get my family to Sign paperwork To send him home, when she was supposed to be working on placement. Did not start medicaid application and told my family they should have to pay 350/week it’s not that much money. The lack of intelligence, nursing care and cleanliness of his room is disgusting. First experience with St. Vincent and not impressed at all! Nurses are very attentive and nice but too many discrepancies in the information reported on the plan and care of the patient. Doctors do NOT communicate with each other, it appears they do not staff patients and drag their feet on performing procedures. This has been an extremely frustrating week. Everytime I speak to the staff it's always a different plan or no plan. I will use this facility again!
