The nurses are sweet and the surgical team is professional, but whatever idiot up there is writing prescriptions needs to be fired. I got a tonsillectomy, which is a two week recovery and about 10 days of agony and received 100 mL to help of oxycodone. I was instructed to take 5 mL every six hours. I don’t know if they can’t do math up there but that’s 20 mL a day. That’s five days. They gave me enough for five days, and then told me to up the dosage to 7.5 when it wasn’t working, which gives me even less. I tried to get a refill over the weekend because I knew that I was not going to have enough, but I couldn’t because everybody had gone home or nobody was there to fill it so I had to wait until Monday. My daughter recently had surgery at this facility and we could not have been happier with the quality of care. She was nervous about everything and they made many extra steps to make her feel comfortable. Could not ask for better quality of care.

AMAZING staff and care. was super nervous for my child’s procedure and they were so caring, thoughtful and kind to not only my child, but to us as well. Definitely recommend especially if you’re a nervous momma like me.

I had surgery and stayed in the children’s hospital. The staff was amazing. I loved it there! The place was extremely clean, an the staff always came make sure that your okay or if you need anything. They took really good care of me.

Review your bill carefully! Upcharging and upcoding is proving impossible to correct. Our surgery was canceled by the medical team, but the surgery center continues to send us a bill for the procedure as if it occurred as planned. (Even though the surgeon did not submit a bill for it.) What a nightmare. After 6 months of calling to try to correct this with Ochsner directly, I’ve resorted to filing an insurance fraud complaint. Very disappointing experience with Ochsner. Impossible to speak with anyone who is actually reviewing your bill. Otherwise, the staff on-site was very courteous in the waiting room, which was clean and spacious. Seems like it would be a nice place to have surgery if it actually happened.
