Ochsner American Legion Hospital

The ER is okay as far as waiting times go. I went a few days ago and tested positive for influenza A. I told them my chest was hurting and I could barely breathe and both the nurses and doctor just ignored me. The doctor was an Indian man and when he used his stethoscope to check my back and chest, he tapped it lightly on my body 4 times on my back and 2 on my chest. Didn’t listen to anything, just tapped it on my shirt. Went to urgent care Saturday and they told me I have either bronchitis or pneumonia. Soooo glad the doctor and nurses didn’t give a shit about me telling them I could not breathe. The only decent people at that ER are the nurse Joey and the blonde doctor, I think Annabeth. Hospital STINKS! Literally like mold or mildew. Dr Lacombe comes in uses her stethoscope and gone. Doesn't communicate at all. Been in ICU DKA for 4 days now and all of a sudden in 2 minutes im being rushed into regular room because they have new patients and noICU room. This place is a DUMP! Ben waiting 2 days for an EGD and once I find out what's going on I'm out of here. At this point they are just sucking up my good health insurance. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND this hospital to a dog. Never again.

I was traveling from San Antonio to New Orleans and had a severe sharp pain in my abdomen, not being one to ever go to a hospital I was convinced when the pain became acute and constant. When I walked in the emergency room the lady taking admissions had just then opened her dinner. I was hesitant to even bother her but she gestured me over moved her dinner and very quickly took my information and had me in the back to be examined. The staff in back were all very quick polite understanding and professional. I was diagnosed and treated within forty minutes, this included X-ray and sonogram. The doctor came and let me know my gal bladder was upset and how to manage it. I was out the door in just over an hour. My daughter doctor told her to go to the hospital so I met her there … the first part nothing to complain about but the second part I do … my little granddaughter was born on dec 15 .. when she was brought into the nursery they didn’t even clean her … her forehead still had stuff in it … the nurse in the nursey must not like her job cause she was always rolling eyes and the last thing .. a nurse practitioner came into my daughter and told her … her doctor was being transported to Lafayette general to have surgery I was like what … i was so mad my daughter was crying and crying .. the team that came get my granddaughter told my daughter that wasn’t true she is too little to have surgery … oh and before I forget my daughter didn’t even get to see her daughter no one wheeled her there or noth

January of this year my father had a bad car accident which he would later pass away from. I ran into the emergency room looking for my father an ran right into the most rudest callous person I have ever met in my life. Nurse working in the emergency had zero empathy and was only worried that I was in the emergency room. She yelled at me stated I could not be back there, tried to explain to her why I was there but she could careless and did not hear one word I said and she eventually called security on me, which means she never addressed the issue of where my father was. So we waited and waited and found out the Helicopter was routed to Lafayette due to the extent of my fathers injuries. So on the worst day of my families lives we were treated with contempt and threats by this ER nurse. I
