NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital

A nurse named Darryl or Darren was very patient and professional. He took great care of my father in rehab. The way he took his time in explaining how cold fluids can affect medication absorption and the science behind it, and explaining all of his meds and their side effects, asking if the room temperature is comfortable for us… no other nurse approached care towards my dad in such a holistic manner and we appreciate it. However, based on the rest of my experience, this facility is getting a 4 star because leadership there is very unprofessional.

This is the “best” hospital I have ever been to, and I’ve been to the all the big names institutions who boast excellence. Everyone and everything at NYU Langone from the entrance, medical care and recovery operations are superb and professional. I had a hip replacement and couldn’t stop praising the staff beginning with the surgeon, O/R team, recovery staff and environmental services for cleanliness and order. NYU Langone is the ultimate medical provider in NYC.

They were recommended to me as the holy grail Dr. Golant, They're a disaster, very poorly organized. I asked the same questions for a week, made too many calls, they don't have computers, and they should have entered the information and made me min. call 20 times for the same thing so they could properly update my information on the day of surgery—medications, allergies, etc. important things. There are good and bad staff, including doctors who will make your stay miserable The doctor's assistant and several nurses—I don't know their names, but it was unpleasant to meet them.Paul,Ingrid . This review is currently of our on going expierence with NYU Orthopedic Hospital. I do not believe our safety concerns have been addressed. I encourage you if you are reading this to consider other medical institutions for your surgical needs before engaging in NYU for your surgical needs. Our family member had a total knee replacement and when voicing our safety concerns for discharging we advocated that the patient go to rehab vs returning home because of lack of accessibility and poor recovery conditions in their building ie multiple story walk up building and living alone. It seems the decision to discharge was made and when concerns were voiced impractical solutions were proposed. How would the patient enter the home? The coordinated effort and teamwork of the entire staff at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital made my stay there, after total right hip replacement, stress free. Everyone was professional and compassionate. I would especially like to acknowledge Emily who helped me with physical therapy and all the nurses. Nurses Jose', Daniela, Halle and Heidi went beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital.
