It might get be smaller than other nursing care facilities, but that adds to the familiarity one gains with staff members. In addition, they have all the services available that one needs: PT, OT, recreational services, and religious services as a Jewish and strictly kosher facility. It’s been around a long time. My mother was there for four years. She was well taken care of.

The admin and customer svc rep were so understanding and compassionate. Seeing parents aging can be hard on a family. We felt so supported thru the rehabilitation process by these devoted individuals. They took our concerns seriously and did their best to make my mothers stay comfortable and focused on recovery.

There is nothing skillful or Compassionate about this place! My Mother came to this place about 2 weeks ago for rehabilitation. Now she is worse than when she first came in! I have never seen somebody deteriorate as fast as she did in such short period of time. The first day she came in we were interviewing by a nurse and a Social Worker (case worker) to go over my mother’s needs. They fail to feed her. They fail to move her. They fail to give her therapy five days a week as it was requested by the doctors. They lied about cleaning, bathing and feeding her. Physical therapy lied about my mother coming into the therapy room and doing cycling and doing all this kind of exercises when my mother couldn’t even stand up from her bed! Do not do not do not send anyone here! It’s dirty, filthy, old. Nothing is updated, especially the memory care unit. I took my loved one out as soon as possible. Shame on the people or owners of this place, and shame on New York State for letting a place like this exist. You have to be deaf dumb and blind not to see how disgusting this place is. Board of Health will be hearing about it!

Northern Metropolitan has provided outstanding care for my loved one. The staff are compassionate, patient, and always willing to go the extra mile. You can tell they truly care about the residents — from helping with daily needs to offering emotional support and friendly conversations.
