Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing

My mother just went in here after a short hospital stay for the respiratory virus. This has been much improved since she was in here the last time. She arrived on a holiday weekend with a skeleton staff, but now during the week has received excellent and attentive care. In addition, they have kept the room very clean and helped her a great deal with showering and personal care.

My experience was horrible, the staff did not care, I pressed the call button to be taken to the bathroom and I waited two hours. I was forced to take myself. I needed assistance due to the fact I just had surgery on my knee. One nurse did come back to tell me she needed to get gloves, however I sat there for twenty minutes and realized she wasn't coming back. The food was horrible, the list goes on. My room mate wasn't taken care of and her family tried to warn me. Please stay away from this place.

If I could give them zero stars I would. If you love the person that needs to be in a rehab/nursing home, STAY AWAY! If it is an enemy, this is the perfect place for them. 95% of the nurses do not care about their patients. They complain if you ask them to do their job, then mention they are "understaffed", but if you go to the nurses station, they are on their phone, or standing around laughing and talking, or on a smoke break. I met ONE nice nurse who actually seemed to care. Way too many instances to list on how bad this place is. I can't stress enough, stay away. They are rude and lazy.

Samantha from admissions was very helpful with my father-in-law Andrew Jennings recent stay. The nurses and health aides were very polite and helpful throughout his stay The physical therapists worked with him and he was able to walk again prior to going home.McKenzie from social services was very helpful throughout and made sure his discharge to home went without issue. I can say with certain that this place cares and the leaders here are going the distance to ensure a kind and safe environment here and the food is excellent and the leaders will listen to anyone concern you may have they are also planning on renovations to make it a better and safer place for you and your family I highly recommend it and am willing to help new comers feel welcome.
