North Shore Urology

Shouldn't even be a one, but can't post without it. I was a patient of this practice for over 20 years, generally being seen by Dr Francis Martinis. While receiving regular PSA tests during testosterone therapy, it was determined that my PSA was rising, and eventually a biopsy was done confirming a very aggressive prostate cancer. Advising against removal, Dr Martinis prescribed a 45 session radiation treatment, which I followed. After a time on Lupron post radiation, my PSA again began to rise. Dr. Martinis was forced to leave the practice because of personal issues, but was recommending various other treatments, which was reinforced by Dr. Mitchnick after Dr Martinis left. I asked about a salvage prostatectomy as a solution, but was told emphatically by Dr Mitchnick that a prostatectomy

Had my surgery done by Dr. Richard Rose in 1998..... Things have changed since. Have been there numerous times to have diagnosed a reoccurring pain in same area as my past surgery. To no avail.... was told no hernias if pain persists take 2 advil. Pain became unbearable, was sent for a scrottal sonogram, called for results no call back. Was told if I had any questions to ask staff , staff will then in turn ask Dr, then they will.call back with a response. I am still.waiting for an answer from Dr. Michnik. Staff totally unprofessional, Really sad ! Since have been to ER of Staten Island Hospital South Shore. Been diagnosed with double hernia. Thank You , North Shore Urology for your concern!!! Very unprofessional….(Bethpage office)they never answer the phones or follow up . The Advanced Urology office in Bethpage they send you for biopsies is run like a Chop Shop… 25 biopsies a day…no follow up, given another patient’s discharge papers…my husband was in the Emergency room 3 days in a row…couldn’t contact anyone for 3 days in any office…terrible experience all around..

I'm re writing my review, some how it has dis appeared :0/ I never made it to this place because when I called to make an appointment it was as if the person who answered the phone didn't understand the process. Energy is everything, if phone people aren't happy at work it says so much about the facility in general. Thank you to the person who deleted my review, it says so much about your facility. If you don't like the reviews change how the facility is run.

Good doctors, terrible front desk person and one particular staff member who answered the phone. I wish I took a name.
