NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

I recently delivered my first baby at this hospital and, unfortunately, my overall experience was quite disappointing. While there were a few standout staff members, there are several areas that need significant improvement—particularly for postpartum and C-section recovery patients. There was a noticeable lack of nursing support in guiding and encouraging recovery activities, such as walking, which are important for healing after surgery. In general the postpartum nursing care was inconsistent. Our two night nurses were truly wonderful— incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive during the night shifts. However, the majority during the day shift were impatient, dismissive, and at times condescending when speaking to us as first-time parents. This created a stressful and uncomfortable env

I love this hospital for a lot of reasons. My baby has a heart defect and has been seen here since I was pregnant, really. I had my fetal echocardiograms done here, along with my high risk ultrasounds & my baby has cardiology follow up here. His cardiologist is 5 starts totally. The ultrasound/imaging team was always awesome, and so was maternal fetal medicine. I had a cesarean section preformed here also. My surgical team was also 5 starts, amazing! The ONLY reason I’m giving 4 starts, is because of the nurses that tended to me and my babies after I had them. I won’t get into specifics, but it was an overall unpleasant, uncomfortable experience. I am so glad we chose this hospital for my first pregnancy and childbirth. Great overall experience - the nurses and doctors were phenomenal. They took care of me throughout the whole process. Thank you so much, Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital!

Had an amazing experience in the children's same day surgery OR for my 4 year old daughter. From when we went into the room, a Patient Advocate came and gave a lot of toys to my daughter, and the Patient Advocate demonstrated on a teddy bear how they will put on a pulse oximeter on the finger and ECG electrodes on the belly to show and explain what they’re going to do to her. While we were waiting they turned on a show for my daughter to watch special to our personal preference. With a tablet, the Patient Advocate showed my daughter where they were going to take her for the procedure. Everything was very smooth with friendly staff and doctor who made sure everything was taken care of and made us feel as if we were the only patients.

The children’s hospital has been the best experience year after year. Nurses who remember your child, friendly staff. If admitted the food is great, they also provide school activities and a teacher. Too many good things to list from 2016-2025. Very appreciative, this is the only hospital my child is comfortable going to.
